Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Meanwhile, Back in China, Lu Lian was at the airport to pick up someone as she waited eagerly to see the respective person. Soon after her eyes caught the delicate figure walking towards her with the luggage bag in her hand.
Lu Lian smiled and hurried towards her, “My Lanlan, finally you are back,” and hugged her.
Ming Lan hugged her back and smiled, “If not, then where would I go?”
Lu Lian let her go and looked at her smiling happily, “True that as you are married. There is no way you would run somewhere else.”
“Well, I agree,” they both walked out to go to the car.
“After five months,” Lu Lian mumbled and looked at Ming Lan, “I feel bad for your husband.”
Ming Lan’s face turned sad, “Even I feel bad for him.”
“Hey, I was just trying to pull your leg but you are getting sad for real. I am sure brother Zac is totally fine.”
“He is but it’s me who is guilty,” Ming Lan replied as the two sat in the car after keeping her bag inside.
“Would you like to go to a cafe and talk a little? After that, I will drop you at your home…I mean your in-law’s home.”
“Fine!” Ming Lan agreed and the two left in the car.
“What are you thinking about?” Lu Lian asked while driving a car.
Ming Lan sighed, “I thought I would give him a surprise but when I am back he is on a business trip.”
“Sorry to hear that but you can think of it in another way,” Lu Lian said.
“Other way?”
“If your husband was here, then I wouldn’t get a chance to pick you up and then spend time with you. Also, don’t forget I will be your sister-in-law in a month or so, so you should be more attentive to me till I get married to your brother.”
“Yes, my dear sister-in-law,” Ming Lan said with a little tired tone as her mind was stuck on Wen Zac.
When they reached the cafe, Lu Lian ordered coffee and snacks for them. “You must be hungry. Stop thinking too much. If you are that sad then just leave your work and stay by his side,” Lu Lian’s tone was firm and strict.
Ming Lan gave her a look, “You know I can’t.”
“I know you can’t and also I think you should not. But when you want to work, this will keep happening. It’s nothing new that you stayed away for so many months. Before you never felt bad but suddenly you have a husband and you are acting as if you have committed a crime.”
“Shouldn’t I feel that way? I didn’t even spend time with him after our wedding and left to return after five months.”
Lu Lian shook her head, “Listen to me carefully now. When you decided to marry him, didn’t you two agree with you to continue your work and I am sure he knows what it means to let you continue.”
“He does,” Ming Lan agreed.
“Also, I believe marriage should be the normal thing in our life which changes nothing for us. Do men leave their jobs for their wives? Their life and work continues to be the same even after marriage then why should our life change? I agree there are responsibilities but they should be a normal part of life and not something that will force you to change your life. Do you get what I mean?” Lu Lian asked.
“I believe the same,” Ming Lan replied, “We too work hard to study and reach for our goal then why leave it? My work…I love it. I left all the big opportunities only to follow this path.”
“Now you are on the right track,” Lu Lian praised, “If I have to leave my work after the wedding, I will ask your brother to leave his work instead and I will take care of him. I have my dreams as well. I didn’t study and work hard to be just a trophy wife.”
“Yeah, do that. I am sure my brother won’t mind depending on you as long as he can have you in bed,” Ming Lan said with a teasing smile.
“From bed, it reminded me to ask if you and brother Wen….”
“We didn’t,” Ming Lan interrupted her friend, knowing what she was asking about.
“Oh, no worries. Anyways you two didn’t get much time to spend together. Things will happen on their own,” Lu Lian assured.
Ming Lan’s face turned red, “Will see.”
Lu Lian gave her a narrowed eyes look, “Why are you acting so shy and that too in front of me? Didn’t I tell you everything about me and your brother? At that time you were so shameless and excited to know it all.”
“You and brother were in love while we are still at- knowing each other phase.”
“Trust me it will feel really good. Knowing you two, it will be like first love and everything sweet and pure. I envy you.”
“As if you didn’t have that sweet love with my brother,” Ming lan countered.
“More like a fierce love. We used to fight each other more. All the sweetness came so late, but yeah, it has its own charm.”
“I saw the pictures of my brother proposing to you in England. Brother Yang sent it to me. When do you plan for the wedding? I hope it will be soon before I go back to my work.”
“You are not allowed to leave till my wedding. The family was talking about it to be in a month but I am trying to prolong it,” Lu Lian informed.
“Why? Shouldn’t you get married as soon as possible or do you want my brother to keep waiting?”
“I don’t want my family to call Lijun and Yuyan back home so soon. Those two are finally together and I wish them to have some time alone away from the family. Once they are here, I don’t know how things will go.”
Ming Lan nodded, “Hmm, you told me last time but…are they really? I mean it’s kind of difficult to believe knowing how Yuyan is.”
“But you don’t know my brother. He made it possible. We Lus get what we want,” Lu Lian said with pride.
“I can not agree more.”
Just then Ming Lan received the call. It was from Wen Zac. Seeing his name flashing on the screen made her heart beat faster.
