My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It

Han Li and his fiance stood side by side just outside her home. "I guess your father is still out," he said.
Liyue nodded. She was a bit nervous. What did Han Li want to speak with her?
"Now that it is sure that you will be mine from now on. I have some conditions I hope you can fulfill…" His voice lingered for a while before he continued, "Nothing much, only two conditions."
Liyue nodded. Her neck was slightly red… How can he so casually say something like you are mine…
"So, first of all. After our marriage, I want you to look after my mom very well. Especially if I am not around for some reason." Han Li looked into her eyes, "Understood?"
She nodded. That was not much, she just had to see Yue Li like her own mother.
"Second thing, this is very important. Well, don't reveal anything that you feel is a secret of ours to anybody other than me and Mom." He had no plans of revealing Yue Li's Luck-Chat System or his own secrets.
What she had to know, she will know. But if she ended up seeing something, it would be troublesome. Thus, he warned her beforehand.
He didn't really mind though. His own important secrets would be secrets in his own mind and the only secrets Yue Li had were her previous life on Earth and the System. He had firmly warned her not to reveal anything like that, so she wouldn't.
Yue Li also understood that these things might be coveted treasures. She wasn't one to look for troubles herself.
Liyue found the second condition to be somewhat weird but didn't linger on it too much and nodded. Maybe they had some secrets about the clan that Han Li's father came from that they didn't want others to know.
"Also, this is not a condition but I am just a human. Your husband to boot. So, you should try speaking to me."
She was so nervous every time. She had barely spoken to him ever since they met. Nevertheless, she nodded.
Han Li looked at her and took her hand. "I do know the way to break the ice though. Should I use that instead?"
She looked at him. His red eyes shined like a ruby and its focus made her avert her gaze. Han Li patted her head and brought her into his embrace. She was startled but she couldn't resist. "Can you hear the heartbeats?"
Indeed. She could feel her own thundering heartbeats and Han Li's calm ones. But she could no longer nod since her head was buried in his chest and he was patting the top of her head.
Her face flushed. "I…I can hear," she said in fluster.
Her hands were on his chest, his hands were wrapped around her waist and he was so tightly pulling her. She couldn't help but be flustered.
She had never been this close to a man. Not to mention someone so dominating.
"Do you still feel nervous? What kind of weak girl are you?" Han Li once more patted her head, "You will have to grow stronger than that. Now look up at me."
Feeling his hold loosen slightly, she relievedly looked up at Han Li's face. 'So close!' her heart skipped a beat. Han Li closed the distance and his lips met hers. He didn't give a deep kiss but just a small peck on her lips.
She stood in his embrace startled like a kitten. Then immediately pushed him away in a fluster.
Han Li looked at her with a curious smirk as he stumbled a step back.
Really, A beauty no matter what, does look beautiful. The moonlight on her blushing skin in this late night and the chirping sound of cicadas were just… Beautiful. It felt so alive.
She looked at him with a red face and touched her lips. "Wh…what was that?" she muttered.
Han Li smiled. "Nothing, just something to make you more comfortable."
Liyue clenched her hands. Why was her heart so fast? She couldn't calm down at all!
This was not the kind of nervousness she was used to.
"Anyway, as Mother-in-law said, my Mom is still alone… I will go for now." Han Li chuckled, waved his hands, and turned around. Before Liyue could process everything, he was far into the distance.
She just stood there and looked at him as her hair flowed in the night wind. She tucked it into place with a hand. '…he undid my hair because he… hugged me too hard.' Her heart couldn't help but skip a beat. Her hands couldn't help but clench itself.
On the other hand, some distance away, a fatty lied under a bush and sighed. "Youth, such a wonderful thing."
Had it been his own house, Han Li would sure have beaten him half to death today. But this time, he didn't mind. He was in somewhat of a carefree mood.
As for Liyue?
She was also someone who had gone through the 3rd Awakening, but she didn't even notice the obvious movement.
"Ah the Air smells like fine ash, ah the sun feels hot, ah the fire burns…" Han Li sang an old poem that came to mind and silently vanished into the shadows of night.
It was said that someone who had plowed the fields long enough would know when a harvest was soon. It was the same for him.
He could intuitively tell the energy in the surrounding atmosphere was rising. The day of Energy Abundance was soon, and this time, Starlight Clan was going to host the Awakening Ceremony.
And for that, a white flag would be risen. A flag representing peace that should not be touched upon. If that moment of peace was to be touched upon…
Han Li smirked. It was near time to remove some pests from his field.
"Ah? What was it again? Whatever… Ah, the moon comes out in night… Ah the fat man is fat…"
