Ard refuses to take part, despite the headmaster's repeated requests. He explains that magic is meant to save people, and that it should not be used for entertainment or for show.
Upon hearing that, Lady Olivia, who is standing in the room, steps forward and remarks that her little brother — not by blood — once said exactly the same thing, and that he then went and got himself reincarnated without asking anyone. As she warns him once again to recognize his true identity, Ard becomes frightened, and asks the headmaster for some time to think about whether he will participate.
After leaving the room he wanders off, wondering whether he should join the event or not. At that moment Jinny spots him and runs over, and asks him out on a date.
Ard is caught by surprise and immediately thinks about turning her down. After looking at Jinny, however, and at how beautiful she is, he accepts the invitation, realizing that he should not reject such an offer. Just then Ireina notices the two of them and overhears their conversation about the date, and insists that she wants to go on a date as well. Jinny agrees, thinking that Ard would look better surrounded by several women, which makes Ireina extremely jealous, and she refuses to allow anything of the kind. Ard simply listens to their argument, and eventually agrees to take them both.
On the day of the date, Ireina meets up with Jinny, and the two girls start complimenting each other on how good they look. Once they arrive at the place Ireina has chosen, she explains that she picked the traditional option: watching a play, one based on Varvatos.
As they watch the performance, Ard reflects that he never imagined he would one day sit in a theater watching his own past life acted out in front of him. During the play, Varvatos battles a monster, which frightens both Jinny and Ireina. Out of fear the two of them cling to Ard, who can feel their chests pressing against his arms. He tries to shift his attention and focus closely on the play instead.
As he watches, he notices that Lydia and Varvatos are talking to each other in a loving manner, almost like a pair of lovers. That completely shocks Ard, because he remembers that Lydia was never like that in real life; she was always aggressive and strong. By the time the play ends, Ard is exhausted from dealing with the memories of his past life and the constant pressure of Ireina's and Jinny's chests against his arms.
They all leave the theater, where Jinny and Ireina immediately start fighting over Ard, each trying to hug him and pull him toward a place she knows. In the end Jinny wins, and leads the way to a restaurant she likes.
On the way there, however, Ard overhears a group of suspicious people plotting something against the queen during the upcoming event. All three of them hear the conversation, and they decide to follow the group, knowing that they have to save the queen before it is too late.
As the group heads underground through a hidden hole, Ard, Jinny and Ireina follow them through the same passage. The moment they enter, they notice a magic circle drawn on the wall — and then the whole group surrounds them and threatens to take their lives.
Ard simply laughs, and points out that the group never intended to kill them straight away, because if they truly wanted them dead they would have attacked from the shadows without ever revealing themselves. The group's leader is surprised that Ard has figured them out so easily. Then he sets Ard's body on fire with his magic, laughing as he reveals that Ard was only half right, because he has no intention of letting him live either.
Even so, Ard remains completely calm inside the flames. He uses his magic to extinguish the fire, and then casts another spell to destroy the magic circle on the wall. The group's members are left stunned. Their leader is not, and he urges them to overwhelm the trio, since they greatly outnumber them. Hearing that, Ard calmly steps forward, snaps his fingers, and unleashes a large-scale magic attack that wipes out every member of the group except the leader.
Leaving the leader alive, Ard asks him why he lured them into the trap and tried to kill them. Instead of answering, the leader becomes furious and transforms into a demon, then uses a lightning burst to damage the ceiling and escapes through the hole on his wings.
Seeing that, Ard tells Ireina and Jinny to wait for him while he follows the demon with his flying technique, which leaves them both shocked, since they had no idea Ard could actually fly. He quickly catches up and uses a flare technique to set the demon on fire.
As the two of them emerge into the open, the crowd notices them and panic quickly spreads, while the demon puts out the flames and grabs a young girl as a hostage. The people begin running in every direction, which worries Ard, because he realizes that the situation could get out of hand very quickly. He introduces himself as the son of the great mage and assures everyone that they have nothing to fear, then uses illusion magic to rescue the child and return her safely to her mother.
The demon is left confused and tries to escape, only to be struck by the Flash of Babel. Unable to dodge the attack, he is completely destroyed by the technique.
After defeating the demon, Ard lands on the ground, where everyone begins praising him. Soon after, he is summoned, along with Ireina and Jinny, by the queen, who wishes to honor him for defeating the demon.
There Ard catches sight of the queen and is amazed by her incredible aura of elegance and beauty. Before anyone can react, Ireina stands up and waves at the queen instead of bowing. The queen agrees to it and bursts into laughter after Ireina calls her a friend, which shocks and angers the crowd, who see the whole thing as an act of disrespect toward the queen.
As the queen continues laughing, she turns her attention to Ard and offers to make him a Pentagon-class mage as his reward, which leaves the crowd stunned all over again. Ard, however, feels that accepting the title could cause problems for him, so instead he asks the queen to increase the budget of the Laville National Academy of Magic as his reward.
The queen agrees to his request — and then announces that she will make him a Pentagon-class mage anyway. While Ard is left disappointed, the queen keeps on joking, and offers the same Pentagon-class status to Ireina as well, which makes Ireina excited and happy.
Elsewhere, the Satanists hold a meeting among themselves, where they discuss and praise Ard's strength before planning to take him down by using a woman who can transform into a monster, hoping in that way to spread terror throughout the country.
