Chapter 13Swords Out of Nowhere

He looked around, and then an unknown person appeared in the room and said that this was incredible. He really had become the thing he dressed up as. And his strength was the path he would choose too.

Akutagawa came closer and asked, "You only give your voice and never show your face. That's quite bold."

The man apologized to him and said that, since he was here to greet him, how about a little introduction? He thinks this opponent is perfect for him. What does he think about that?

Akutagawa smiled and asked, "Is this what you call an introduction?"

A huge, terrifying monster appeared before him, and Akutagawa said, "All right. Then I'll see for myself." He offered to find out how much stronger he'd become. The man said that, by the way, he had placed his awareness into this creature, but now this child was moving on its own. How could fighting a silent doll be anything but boring, right? Akutagawa replied that he was very grateful.

And at that moment the fight began.

Akutagawa began pursuing the monster, and multiple bright beams of light from its attacks filled the room. Akutagawa realized it was working and went on destroying the enemy using his new powers. Before, he had been completely powerless against it; now they were on equal terms. He fought with all his might and pushed the enemy back slightly, thinking that he had even become much stronger than this creature. After which he struck the centre with his bright flash and waited to see what would happen.

A moment later the monster threw several swords at him, causing Akutagawa's blood to spill, and the creature waited.

When Akutagawa saw that a sword had pierced his back he was stunned by the pain and didn't understand what was happening. He thought he'd struck the sword from the front, but the monster had cut him from behind. How had that happened?

At that moment more and more cuts began to appear on his body, and he realized it was a very strange skill, and that even with such strange strikes he couldn't master it.

The monster muttered, "Of course not." His servant wouldn't use any attack skills at all.

Akutagawa couldn't understand what was happening, and the man said that something was moving and striking faster than the human eye could follow, raining down attacks. He was surprised, and turned around, realizing they were simply physical attacks. As the monster went on destroying his body, the man said that he couldn't learn a skill if the attack was used without a skill, and that this was his greatest weakness.

Akutagawa gritted his teeth in anger, and the monster asked, "So, you thought you could endure this? You thought you'd got stronger?"

Akutagawa rose to his feet, and the monster asked, "Perhaps this is the enemy's charm. It was a great story for a one-night stand." At that moment Akutagawa coughed up even more blood, and the monster muttered that if it all ended, that would be part of the fun.

He began to shake, and remembered Anagawa's gaze, and then suddenly his legs gave way. The monster appeared behind him, and Akutagawa, enraged, created a bright flash of light and declared that his charm hadn't changed at all since then, and that he'd been using the skills Akutagawa had taken all this time.

He now had it. The inventory item skill is learned.

Those swords that appeared out of nowhere — that's where they came from, right?

The monster was very surprised by this and began to laugh loudly. Then it said that sacrificing himself so much for his goal was amazing. He really is an interesting actor.

At that moment the monster looked at his appearance and was surprised. No rapier appeared. Akutagawa said, "And psychokinesis. No matter how fast it moves, it can't be faster than everything at once."

The monster was dumbfounded. And a moment later Akutagawa destroyed it with several swords pointed at the enemy. A moment later a powerful flash occurred, and he laughed a little, and then realized he had done it. Akutagawa tried to catch his breath and shouted that he was getting stronger, which brought him down onto his knees — and then he turned around abruptly and asked the monster, "Are you kidding me? Were they really mass-produced?"

A multitude of identical monsters had appeared in front of him, and he realized that his next battle was a battle he had to endure. Then suddenly he froze and asked, "What's going on? Where are they going?"

They grabbed his arms and dragged him toward the portal, then threw him back through it. When Akutagawa landed, the man apologized for rudely dragging him into this, but this was the first time they'd met face to face since then. He'd wanted to do it again, so he didn't care. But why was everything so sticky?

When Akutagawa asked this question, the man replied that he was sorry. Watching him in danger had whetted his appetite. But he had to pull him in here quickly. Otherwise everything would have ended rather boringly.

Dungeons have high magical power, especially in the depths, and time flows differently there. Before he realized it, morning had arrived, and it was time for him to report. He pointed to the side and asked him to calm down and keep watching.

Akutagawa asked, "What do you mean, calm down? That's crazy." Because those guys could be the special ones. The ones who hurt his sister.

And indeed, those guys who came out of the portal and said they needed to go back were just jokers. Tsukasa said it was easy to defeat, but the mana consumption irritated him. Next to him was Abena, who had a mage class with an A-rank summoning skill. He said, "Mr. Soldier, maybe you should learn a little restraint."

Makoto remarked that with a name like first-class dumb warrior, it was no wonder he was all muscle. This girl was a healer, and had a last-class elixir skill. Tsukasa said not to praise him like that or he'd blush.

Hagi and Yugi were with them too. Hagi had the A-rank flash skill and was a thief, while Yugi was an archer with the C-rank arrow skill. Hagi said they were being rushed because they were taking too much time. At that moment Isamu joined them and said Yugi was right. It was taking too long, so he suggested speeding things up. Tsukasa replied that he understood, and that they would get down to business now.

A moment later he pounced on the monsters, who began attacking them from all sides, and gradually destroyed them. Abena said, "I'm telling you to practise. He's too old to keep up with this." He was right in the centre, using his magical powers to protect himself, saying that old trees were annoying, spreading their branches, interfering with the young shoots.

A bright flame appeared around them, and suddenly a single bright arrow destroyed the opponents. Yugi had used his arrow to do it, and Makoto came up to him and asked, "Is there nothing left for me again? How bored I am." Yugi said a healer would have done a better job, but fine, he'd end it now.

Isamu drew his sword and said, "Redon." As he cast the spell he destroyed the remaining opponents with bright beams of light. The monsters emitted loud sounds and began to dissolve into the air. He said he'd wasted his time on such a trivial matter, then smiled and asked his men, "Shall we go now?"

The unknown man said that if he had stayed there, he might have challenged them directly and been instantly killed. That would be a problem for him too. When he met his end, he wanted to enjoy watching him suffer and struggle desperately. After all the effort he'd put into defeating that clown, he'd destroyed him so easily.
