Offered Eternal Life, I Asked for Papyrus

Synopsis

Every year the Bovias Empire feeds a girl to the fire. This year the high priest's daughter buys a slave to burn in her place, with her voice ruined, her hair dyed red and her name taken. But the flames do not finish Luciana, and Orizio, third son of the sun god and the only judge in heaven, cannot read her mind and cannot look away. He carries her home to a palace no mortal survives, then offers her eternal life for one night on his bed. She asks him for papyrus instead.
