Chapter 17A Cornered Mouse

Naritu looked to the side and saw Tada. He stood up and said, "Tada."

Rui put his palm down on his hand and said, "We were just getting started. There's no need to leave me alone."

Naritu asked for forgiveness, but he had to go.

Rui asked, "Where to? You only just arrived." He pulled him back towards himself, and Naritu widened his eyes in confusion.

Rui said he had been thinking about it since their last meeting. "Your body and your arms are clearly not just pumped up, right? I heard you were very strong. In other words, you clearly weren't trained for picking flowers."

Naritu pulled his hand away and thought, where did he come from? He said, "None of your business." He apologised and said he was in a hurry.

Rui smirked and said, "Apparently it was difficult for him to confess."

At that moment Yui was looking at the building and thinking, Naritu went in here. He looked thoughtfully at a couple going inside and said, "This looks like a boring place."

At that moment Tada ran out of the building, bumped into them and apologised.

The man asked, "What kind of crazy person is this?"

Yui said, "Something interesting is about to start."

Tada ran forward, then suddenly slowed down and said, "Nightmare. Where did he go?"

Matsuda ran after him and said, "Tada."

He turned around and yelled, "Matsuda, what are you doing here?"

Matsuda yelled, "Not there. Here." So he had thrown that trash around to trick him.

Tada turned around and said, "Yes, it looks like he threw it around on purpose. So he's trying to lure me here. Well done, Matsuda. Thank you."

Matsuda laughed lightly in response, and they ran forward.

Tada yelled, "Wait for me, Inui."

They found him near the bins with a cigarette in his hand, and said, "We've cornered you, idiot."

Inui laughed and asked, "Cornered me? Would you think for even a second? It seems you have no brains at all."

The guys turned around and saw Onodera.

Inui put out his cigarette, saying that a cornered mouse may bite a cat, but that was just a saying. "Tada. You guys are just prey. Idiots."

Onodera swung his fist and hit Tada. Matsuda asked to be forgiven.

Tada said they needed to deal with this guy first, otherwise they would not move forward. "His strength is no joke. Even when I tried to break through head-on, he didn't flinch. We won't be able to defeat him until we come up with something. This isn't really my style, but Matsuda — can you help me?"

He replied, "Yes. I'll try my best."

Tada ordered him to aim for the legs. "He doesn't perceive you as a threat."

Matsuda asked, "Do you want to set me up as bait?"

Tada replied, "No. I'll be the bait."

Matsuda asked, "Is that really it?" He remembered a moment from the manga and cried out, "The Crow Brothers strategy?"

Tada grinned and said, "As expected. Can you do it?"

"I will," Matsuda replied.

Tada frowned and thought, honestly, Matsuda's strength may not be enough, but we have no choice but to rely on his tenacity.

He ran forward and shouted, "Here we go."

Inui laughed and said, "They're idiots."

Tada ran past Onodera, who looked after him, puzzled. Inui ordered him to stop him. Onodera stretched a hand out towards Tada.

We'll do it, Matsuda thought. I believe in him.

He screamed loudly and grabbed Onodera by the leg. He said, "Don't move."

Onodera wanted to throw him off and started swinging his leg.

Tada screamed, "Good job, Matsuda." He ran up to Onodera and kicked him in the legs. Onodera screamed loudly, and Tada said, "Now—" He hit him in the face and thought, he's caught.

Tada asked in surprise, "What?"

Onodera suddenly kicked out and headbutted him. "Idiot."

He grabbed Tada's leg, and Tada ordered him to stop. He threw him aside, and the guys screamed.

Matsuda asked for forgiveness.

Inui said, "You never had a chance of winning from the start. I told you so, right? You're just prey."

Tada said, "What a nightmare." He thought, how pathetic. He asked Matsuda for help and still ended up in this situation. What a nightmare. He took more hits than he thought. His body is so heavy.

Onodera stood over them like a rock, when suddenly a voice came from behind him.

"This is an interesting game. Can I join in?"

Yui started warming up and said, "This way I can earn back my debt to Naritu. This is perfect bait for a rematch."

Yui began to laugh enthusiastically and told Matsuda to get out of there, otherwise he would be getting in the way. Tada also told him to leave. Matsuda wanted to object, and then Yui started shouting.

Matsuda got up and started running, crying from resentment at himself. He could not help them in any way, but he would definitely bring him here.

Inui called out to Yui and asked what he was doing. He should not show off.

He smiled, saying that he just wanted to show off. Thanks to them, he now had a chance to make a beautiful comeback.

Inui told him not to make fun of him. First he would deal with that idiot and give him a good beating.

After that, a fight broke out. Tada lunged at Inui, and he chuckled, pulled a baton out of his sleeve and hit him in the face.

Tada, in a rage, called him an idiot. "Are you still using dirty tricks?"

Inui asked why he was still talking about it, if he was a bully. "Everything around me is a weapon. Even if it's human."

Realising who he was talking about, Tada said he would never forgive him. He simply was not meant to change. He ran at him, and Inui exclaimed in response that he did not need to change.

Meanwhile Yui smiled and said he understood everything. "In other words, I just need to crush this big guy."

Immediately after that he punched Onodera in the face. He staggered, but stood his ground. He's a pretty tough guy.

Yui said, "The harder something is, the more fragile it actually is. I'll smash his body." He pounced on him with his fists.

Onodera went on the defensive, and while Yui was throwing punches he shouted, "As long as he's human, damage accumulates."

He was distracted, and Onodera took advantage of it and hit him with all his might in the crook of his elbow. Yui cursed and retreated, while Inui struck Tada with his club and said, "The other guy seems to be in a tough spot too. They say that on the battlefield, spears were mightier than swords. When it comes down to it, the one who can stay farther from his opponent wins the fight."

He struck again, saying that they had no time to rest, and then kneed him in the stomach, causing him to fall.

Inui said that his fatal mistake was his lack of weapons, determination and preparation. His opponent had been nice and proper before the Freshman War. "Let him learn what bullies really are, and leave all his dreams here."

Tada stood up, calling him a petty crook. "What was that? A brat who wants to become prime minister. It would have been better if you'd strived to be a corrupt politician from the start."

Inui remarked that he was saying interesting things. Fools think that saying smart words makes them smart.

Tada laughed and said, "Then you're just a genius."

After that he kicked him, knocking the baton out of his hands and ruining his confidence, after which he knocked him to the floor with a knee strike and said with a smirk, "At least you know you're wrong."

Meanwhile Yui still could not cope with Onodera. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and said, "It doesn't matter if one arm is injured. My real trick is my left straight punch."
