Callum decided it. I cannot let them continue.
He messaged immediately. I'll take the job.
The motorcycle passed the other cars and increased its speed. This time the strategy will be different. Quick, precise, and no trace leading up to the Guild.
While he was thinking, the phone vibrated. 7:45. Late.
Sitting at the bookstore with Gail, she said, "I understand."
Callum held out the plate with the symbols on it and looked at it in his hand. He showed her the material and observed it. A great focus for telekinesis. Work well done.
Gail thanked him. She had made a dozen plates to get the drawings correct.
Callum suggested, "Let's try it."
Gail held the plate with a determined expression. "I'm ready."
Blue energy started flowing out of her hand and enveloped the plate.
Gail asked excitedly, "Is it working?"
Callum encouraged her. "Continue. Keep going."
The power increased further. The blue energy spread across the table to a book that was lying there, and the book started levitating.
Both of them celebrated. Gail stood up and hugged Callum. "Thank you, teacher."
Callum was embarrassed. "Not yet. This was just the first step. There's a lot of work left."
Gail complained, "Don't ruin the moment."
Callum laughed. "Will you meet next week?"
Gail confirmed it with a smile.
Later, on the motorcycle, there were still a few hours left. Materials were needed, but the plan was ready. The traffic light turned green.
If everything went according to plan, by tomorrow the vampires would not even know what had happened. There would be no repeat of the motel incident.
Not weapons. Something else, equally powerful.
Thermite. A mixture of metal oxide and aluminium, used for welding train tracks. It can burn up to twenty thousand degrees. Double what lava does. Melting the face off the next vampire — that's enough for me.
It was simple to make. A little rust off an old pipe. Crushing aluminium foil into powder. Mix it in the right proportion and fill it into an old soda can.
Homemade grenade ready.
An hour later, Callum had prepared several cans. There was a plan to hide the materials in different places. During the attack, don't waste time.
He wiped the sweat off his forehead. Just need a heavy object.
He looked back at one. A huge rock. Perfect.
Over at the cinema, two vampires were watching a horrible vampire movie.
One said, "Not romantic at all."
The other asked, "Is there any ketchup left for the children?"
The answer came. He took everything.
The vampire with the bun asked, "Whose turn is it to hunt?"
Before the answer arrived, a small portal opened. A soda can fell through it, and then, boom, a massive explosion. The vampires were incinerated.
The fire alarm went off immediately. Water started dripping from the ceiling sprinklers.
In the second part of the cinema, the rest of the vampires. What is happening? The one with the spiky hair tried to check the fire. But above him another portal opened. His colleague tried to do something. Too late. The can was already falling.
Another explosion. Both of them, ash.
Callum watched the plan from a distance. It's working. Perfect.
Activate the power. Multiple portals open beneath multiple cans, simultaneously. You won't get a single second to think.
And more explosions rocked the cinema.
Confused by the chaos, a bloodsucker asked, "Who is doing this?"
In the broadcast room, the earth wizard was completely absorbed in the movie. "The story's incredible."
But the alarm went off. Smoke came into the room. The bald man quickly realised it. An attack is taking place. He yelled at the sight of the flames. "Why didn't my defensive shields activate?"
That same moment, Callum made sense of it. The earth wizard began to move.
Now it was time for the secondary attack. He knew very little about wizard capabilities. Perhaps thermite or bullets could not penetrate a shield that thick. But this was the only option there was.
So the plan in Callum's mind was simple, but deadly. The wizard in front of him was supernatural. His reaction time was the same as any ordinary person's.
Callum transferred his energy into a large stone and wrapped it up.
The plan was to send the stone up through a portal, drop it from a height, and, right before it hit the ground, open another portal — directly above the wizard's head.
And the wizard looked up exactly on time. Right when the massive stone was coming toward him, tearing through the air.
The next moment, a tremendous crash. The sound of breaking echoed through the whole room.
Callum concluded it. Falling with that much force and speed, even the wizard's shields don't work.
The stone was on the ground and the flames began to engulf everything around it. The cinema was clean. It was done.
Callum came back on his motorcycle. One nest destroyed. There were still three others left.
