Chapter 9Kicking the Air

As Sher struggled back to his feet, he remembered that he had almost accepted being beaten without resistance. Not anymore. He decided that from now on he would never allow Pakito to walk all over him again.

Taking a fighting stance, he declared that he would not surrender. He announced that he would defeat Pakito using the techniques of love that he had learned through Muay Thai. Spinning around, Sher swung his leg in a low kick while shouting, "Wild kick!"

Pakito dodged effortlessly. Sher immediately grabbed one of Pakito's arms with both hands and slammed him into a concrete structure. Then he followed up with what he dramatically called a love chokehold attack, managing to knock Pakito down and reduce several points from his health bar.

Smiling proudly, Sher told him that he could not control him. When it came to battles of love, he was a veteran who had read countless romance stories of every genre imaginable.

Jin rushed over and asked whether he was all right. Dusting himself off, Sher smiled and said not to worry, because he was actually very good at fighting.

Several metres away, Pakito slowly stood. He glared at Sher with pure hatred. In his mind, Sher was nothing more than an irritating, disrespectful brat with a stupid face. Growling, he launched himself forward again. He demanded to know how a low-ranking omega could dare to insult him like that.

Seeing the attack coming, Sher pushed Jin out of the way to protect him. As a result, he took a full-force kick to the side of his stomach. The impact sent him flying, and he collapsed onto the floor in pain.

Pakito watched with a satisfied expression and a faintly sadistic smile. He asked Sher whether he knew why kicks to the side of the stomach hurt so much. Panting, Sher replied that it was because the liver is located there.

Pakito laughed. "No. It's because it's an easy place to kick repeatedly."

He immediately kicked the same spot again. Sher doubled over in agony. He realized that Pakito was not only skilled in judo, but also knew exactly how to maximize the effectiveness of his attacks.

Pakito mocked him and asked whether he enjoyed the kicks. Sher glared back and declared that he would show everyone what a proper kick looked like. Then, completely ignoring the seriousness of the situation, he suddenly acted as if he were livestreaming.

"Today, I'll teach you how to perform a front kick. First, place one foot in front of the other and move the second leg back slightly to build momentum."

Before he could finish, Pakito rushed forward and delivered a devastating front kick to the opposite side of his stomach. Sher trembled from the impact. Recovering surprisingly quickly, he declared that he would now demonstrate a boxer's kick. He got into position and launched the attack with all his strength.

Pakito dodged effortlessly. Everyone watching fell silent. No one knew what to make of this fight anymore.

Turning back with a grin, Sher announced, "That technique is called kicking the air." Then he looked toward an imaginary camera. "If you enjoyed this content, don't forget to subscribe, leave a like and drop a comment."

Pakito was now completely bewildered and irritated. Taking advantage of the distraction, Sher suddenly delivered a kick between Pakito's legs. A free sterilization service, as he put it.

Pakito's face briefly twitched in pain. Surprised, Sher muttered that he had actually been aiming for the thigh, not there. After a moment, Pakito straightened up and said, "That didn't do anything to me."

Then Sher suddenly felt something moving beneath his foot. Realizing what was happening, he immediately became alarmed. Pakito laughed and boasted that this was the power of a dominant alpha.

Without wasting time, Pakito grabbed Sher by the arm, pulled him closer and whispered that if they were not in public, he would already have taken off his belt and disciplined him. Completely unfazed, Sher replied that he actually liked toxic masochists.

At that moment, however, he noticed that Pakito had lowered his guard. Taking advantage of the opening, Sher struck him directly in the throat. Pakito immediately lost his breath and began choking.

Staring straight at him, Sher asked, "Do you know why getting hit in the throat hurts so much?" Before Pakito could respond, Sher answered himself. It was because he could keep getting back up after being hit repeatedly. Then he delivered a brutal kick to the exact same spot.

However, Pakito was not easy to defeat. He staggered backward, but remained standing. Sher gave him no chance to recover. He lunged forward, grabbed Pakito by the arm and slammed him into the ground. Pakito was now on the verge of defeat, his health bar nearly empty.

Laughing, Sher asked him how it felt to be smashed into the ground. Thinking that it was time to finish things once and for all, he prepared his final attack.

But before he could strike, a magical flash crashed directly into Pakito's face, sending him flying and knocking him unconscious. The system announced that Pakito had been defeated.

The one who had stolen the kill was none other than Jin. Jin awkwardly admitted that it had been his first time using alpha pheromones as an attack, and hoped that he had not hurt Pakito too badly.

Sher called out to Jin, who approached and asked whether he was okay while apologizing for not acting sooner. Sher immediately called him a filthy rat, because he had just stolen his kill. Jin froze completely, having no idea what that even meant.

The system then announced that the main mission had been cancelled, because the conditions had not been fulfilled. There would be neither rewards nor penalties. However, it warned that every action affects the ending, and that outside interference like this could eventually lead to a very bad outcome.

Annoyed, Sher told Jin that he was just a supporting character, and hoped that he would remember that next time.

The police arrived and asked what had happened. Still confused, Jin honestly replied that he had no idea what had happened either.

The next day, Jin visited Sher to check on him. Sher thanked him for coming and assured him that he was feeling much better. Jin quietly studied him and was surprised to find that there was not a single bruise on his face, despite the beating Pakito had given him. He wondered whether Sher might be using makeup to hide the injuries.

Sher apologized for what he had said the previous day, explaining that he had been angry and had spoken without thinking. He also confessed that Jin was so kind that he constantly gave him strange feelings. Jin looked at him sympathetically and told him not to carry his burdens alone. If he ever had problems, he should ask his family, or even Jin himself, for help. Sher became emotional upon hearing that and thanked Jin for being born and for making the world a better place. Their friendship level increased.

After leaving university, Sher realized that he had no missions at the moment, so he decided to relax and recover his mental health. Suddenly, a black van stopped in front of him. Someone asked whether he wanted to meet Lisa from Blackpink. Before he could react, several men jumped out of the van, grabbed him, injected him with an unknown substance, pulled a black bag over his head and threw him into the vehicle.
