There was a man living his life peacefully. No tension, no drama. Just a beginner's village, a harvest, and peace of mind. The quiet countryside life.
His name was Liping. In the real world he had been an ordinary office worker, and his only joy had been watching farming videos. That was the biggest passion of his life.
Then one day he opened his eyes and he was in a fantasy world's beginner's village. He did not know how he had come. He did not know why he had come. But was he upset? No chance. He did not waste a single second. What he had wanted, he had found.
A quiet life, a little land, and no boss. This was his dream.
The system taught him everything gradually. Hunting, tool making, farming, all the basics of survival. But Liping had only one philosophy. I don't need magic. Forget it. Just good food, a good harvest, and a peaceful sleep.
And the poor system kept pestering him to get out. See the world outside. Learn magic. Gather companions, defeat the Demon Queen, become a hero. And Liping said, yes, yes, we will see about that later, and kept plucking his radishes the whole time he said it.
Now, elsewhere, there was the Demon Queen, Elizabeth.
She had practically conquered the whole world. Every state, every kingdom, everyone had knelt before her. And now she was bored. Literally bored. When no one in the world will challenge you, where is the fun? So she had heard about the prophecy. There is a legendary hero who can defeat her. This was the only thing left in her life that thrilled her a little.
So she set out to find him, and that is where the real trouble begins.
Suddenly, in Liping's village, the weather started changing. The sky turned black. Lightning started thundering. A normal person would have thought a big storm was about to come. But Liping's first reaction was: hey, my clothes. My drying fish.
The Demon Queen was coming, and this man was worried about his dried fish. Truly a hero of a different level. Somehow he saved all his treasures and was happy about it. He had his electronic pet with him, the dog Wong Chai, who was basically the truest friend he had in the whole world. Liping was trying to carry Wong Chai inside the house when a voice came from above and echoed.
Spread your wings in the sky.
Elizabeth entered with full attitude. Liping took one look at her. Then he looked at Wong Chai, and basically asked him: who is this?
Think about it. The Demon Queen. The whole world trembles before her, and this man asks his pet dog about her like she is a random neighbour.
To Elizabeth, obviously, this felt like a huge insult. Liping immediately realized he had messed up and started apologizing, but inside he was in complete panic mode. This village was a safe zone. No boss was supposed to come here. What was happening?
Elizabeth threw something at him, perhaps just to test him. Liping, in a panic, threw his treasure into the air to save himself. And what he got back was a sword.
But no ordinary sword. A glowing holy sword. Alpha. The same legendary weapon the prophecies had been written about. Poor Liping wanted to throw it away, but it stuck to his hand.
Meanwhile Elizabeth was watching all of this, and she assumed that this man was hiding some incredible power. That the confusion was actually a clever trick. And with all that uncertainty, she decided it would be best to kill him now.
Liping's brain completely short-circuited. He was thinking, I haven't even left the village, so how did the Demon Queen get here? And then Wong Chai started barking at Elizabeth. The poor little robot dog had decided to challenge the most dangerous Demon Queen of all time. The system had already informed Liping that this encounter was bound to happen, and when he realized he had nothing in his hands, and that fate was bigger than him, he threw the sword aside.
He was just a newbie, and the ultimate boss was standing in front of him. So what he did was, he smiled. He went inside the house and mentally accepted that he had wasted his entire life. No regrets mode. Quiet work and completely resigned.
Elizabeth took that smile as a challenge. Someone might be mocking her. And from there on, she looked at the house Liping had built with his own hard work and started throwing boulders at it.
But something else was happening here. Wong Chai, that little robot dog, counted every incoming boulder, calculated the trajectory, and blasted them out of the air with missiles. Elizabeth felt this must be some magical artifact of the hero. She needed to take Wong Chai seriously.
She did not understand it. She was confident that she could finish the toy in seconds. She created huge black holes. But Wong Chai literally calculated her attacks and turned them back on her. Elizabeth was shocked. Her magic wasn't working. She was confused about whether there was something inside that house that was blocking her power.
The truth was that Liping was lying on his bed, and he had already accepted it. Wong Chai was fighting outside alone.
After an hour, Liping's eyes opened. Everything was quiet. He himself did not know whether he was alive or dead. He gathered his courage. The door opened slightly and he peeked out, and what he saw was Elizabeth.
With her full Demon Queen attitude. She stood in the yard, and she had Wong Chai in her hand, hanging like an old cloth. The poor dog looked completely lifeless. Elizabeth exchanged glances with Liping and then threw Wong Chai away like a used tissue. She said something like, sorry, the magic tool broke. But there was more care in the voice of an ATM machine than there was in hers.
Liping understood that there was no point arguing with this Demon Queen. He simply said, let's sit down. Let's talk.
Elizabeth agreed. But she also made it clear that first she would send him six feet underground, and they would talk after that. And then, before she could attack, Elizabeth herself collapsed. She had hit her limit.
Liping ran over to check on her. And then, another awkward situation. Her clothes began to disappear, and blood started flowing from Liping's nose. A life and death situation with the Demon Queen, and he is bleeding from the nose. Is he a guy or a protagonist?
Night fell. Eventually Elizabeth woke up on a bed. Her first thought was how humiliating this was. Being a Demon Queen and waking up in someone's bed. She saw handcuffs on her hands and assumed that Liping had kept her like a trophy. She tried to use magic, but the shackles did not even move. She started looking around the room. There were strange things on every side. It felt like a wannabe villain's hideout.
She began to believe that she had underestimated Liping. The guy was annoying anyway. It turned out he was weird too.
Just then, Liping came in with food. Elizabeth did not even give him a chance to speak. She said straight out, if you want to kill me, then kill me. I will not beg.
Liping was nervous, but he did not want to show it. He told her that the handcuffs were only for safety. Elizabeth thought he was mocking her, as if to say, you are not a threat. She suppressed her anger and thought, fine, play now, you will regret it later. Liping opened the handcuffs and smiled. Elizabeth found that smile even more insulting.
Liping started out of the room, and deep inside he had a plan. It was simple. Very simple. He had to make the Demon Queen his friend. He laughed at the idea himself and patted himself on the back. And there was Elizabeth, glaring at him, thinking, why is this man smiling? He must be mocking me. Both of them were interpreting exactly the same situation in completely different ways.
After a while, Elizabeth asked about Wong Chai. She asked whether it was some powerful magic tool. Liping replied casually that no, he just made it to pass the time. Elizabeth thought, perfect. His biggest weapon is gone. Now she would recover, and then she would play with him.
She made a half-hearted apology for breaking Wong Chai, and inside she started preparing her attack. But then Liping froze her completely with what he did next. He took a memory card out of Wong Chai. He opened a shelf, and inside it he had dozens of spare Wong Chais.
Don't panic. I have plenty of them.
