As the smoke cleared, a new silhouette emerged, created out of the berserker black Chainsaw Man armour and Denji's red Chainsaw Man form. It was the pinnacle of unstoppable force, the fusion of Pochita's brawn and Denji's deviant brain.
Looking at the new form and its red colouring, Yoru could tell that this was not her chainsaw man. Taking it as a complete sign of weakness, she ordered him to stand down.
He did not listen. He fired four heavy chains that embedded themselves into the surrounding ruins.
Yoru mocked the move as one he had simply learned in high school and called him an unworthy opponent. She demanded he return to his original state, but her smirk vanished when Denji retracted the chains.
They had not been fired at random. The chains had ensnared the heads of several devils, and as they came to him, Denji fixed them to his suit.
Among the trophies, Yoru recognised her own allies, including the Moray Eel she had used earlier.
Launching himself off the floor, Denji taunted her, remarking that since he had heard she had made some new friends while she was down on the planet, he had decided to turn them into protection.
Enraged, Yoru pointed her finger gun forward to fire back. Before she was able to, Denji cleaved her into three separate parts. In her fury, she accidentally fired a blast directly into the Moray Eel's head.
Realising what she had done, Yoru landed back on her feet and declared that Denji had finally crossed the line. She had played by the rules and fought fair and square from the get-go. But Denji — he would pay for mutilating her friends.
Denji did not flinch. He told her that she was finally learning what it felt like to lose a friend, and that the feeling was only going to get worse as the world got emptier.
To drive the point home, he began to devour the Moray Eel Devil right in front of her.
Driven to a complete breaking point, Yoru tried to shoot him again, but Denji evaded the blast with effortless grace. He leapt to the top of a nearby building and looked down on her with a final warning. Give Asa her body back, or he would keep eating every ally she had left.
Cursing him, Yoru raised her hand towards the sky. As she did, a massive jagged crack began to tear across the surface of the moon.
Reaching for the moon, Yoru intended to transform the American flag painted on its surface into a spear. By utilising the United States' claim on the lunar surface as a conceptual homing beacon, she created a weapon that could not miss.
Tearing her hand down, the spear detached from the moon and made its journey across the vacuum of space towards Earth. Reaching the upper atmosphere, it caught alight before beaming down from the heavens above and completely destroying the building Denji was standing on.
Surprisingly, Denji managed to dart backwards out of the smoke, proving that the spear had narrowly missed him.
The weapon instantly recalibrated, turning in midair to strike him again. This time it skewered the Lion Devil instead. As the creature wailed for Yoru to help him, she coldly dismissed his agony, blaming his pain entirely on Denji's refusal to die.
Kind of confused by this, Denji barely had time to react to her warped logic before the spear shot towards him again.
Sensing the spear closing in, Denji did a backflip to evade it and experienced a sudden flash of clarity. He turned and bolted towards the ruins of Fourth East High School. Sadly, the spear caught him before he made it to the school and sent him crashing into one of the classrooms.
Yoru landed nearby, taunting him for using her friends as a shield. She told him that once she saw even a glimpse of him yielding, then she won. When that happened, she planned to turn him into a weapon and set the humans against each other.
As Yoru went to land on the next building, she tripped and face-planted.
Confused, she wondered what the hell had happened to her feet, only to look back and see them completely missing.
Denji started laughing at her. According to him, while the Death Devil had thought she was using him, he had been busy using her. She had given him a bunch of different pawns that he could use throughout the battle. And now he had consumed the Leg Devil.
Crawling over in her direction, Denji delivered his final ultimatum. Give Asa's body back, or he would continue devouring the world's concepts and dismantling her perfect utopia.
With the Leg Devil consumed, birds tumbled from telephone wires, piglets collapsed in their pens, and people across the globe were reduced to crawling and frantic confusion.
Yoru watched, bracing for the impact of the next erasure as Denji swallowed another handful of devils, only to realise that not every lost concept shattered the world instantly. Some erasures were silent, subtle shifts in the fabric of reality.
As Yoru hurled herself from the balcony, Denji swallowed the Teeth Devil. Her jaw went slack, her speech becoming a blurred, toothless mumble, but her tactical mind was still sharp. She spotted a nearby bike and warped it into a Chainsaw Man motorcycle. With the roar of its engine, she rammed the machine directly into Denji's gut.
The impact was so violent that it forced him to vomit up a mess of body parts and recently consumed devils, before Yoru herself crashed into a wall.
Agonised and desperate, Yoru crawled back towards Denji. She shoved her arm deep into his throat, realising that if she transformed him into a weapon now, his current erasures would become permanent.
With the hand down his throat, Denji gagged, regurgitating both the Leg and the Teeth Devils. Instantly, the world began to regain its balance.
Before Yoru could really do anything, Denji kicked her away, sending her reeling against a nearby wall.
As he squared up to fight, Yoru demanded to know where the rest of her devil friends had gone. Denji looked down, confused, wondering whether they had not been in his vomit.
Spotting a few figurines on the floor, Denji boosted off, but before he could reclaim his ammunition, Yoru shot him away, destroying some of them and scattering the rest into the shadows.
Left with nothing now, Denji bolted from the area, leaping from the building, which only annoyed Yoru more. She pursued him again, taunting him that he could not dismantle her world without more devils to eat. She held up a single pawn as a bargain.
Denji did not even look back. He declared that those weaklings had never been enough to satisfy his hunger. If he wanted a real meal, he would go to the source.
Suddenly, the door he was standing over opened, dropping him feet-first into the hellish realm below.
Not hesitating herself, Yoru ran over and plunged in after him.
Having made her way in, Yoru looked across to see Denji standing before the suffocating darkness of hell. As they stood there on the precipice of the abyss, Denji wondered aloud where all the devils had gone.
Exploiting his momentary confusion, Yoru did not give him an answer. Instead she unleashed a barrage of bullets that forced him through the brick building and sent him spiralling into hell's dark ocean.
