Chapter 5A Kid She Barely Knows

She furiously demands to know if he is crazy, pulling a stunt like this at her workplace. But Ji-hun just flashes that smug grin again, clearly loving the absolute chaos he created. He calmly claims he thought she would like the surprise visit. Absolutely livid, So-hyun asks how he even found her office. His smile vanishes instantly.

A cold, unsettling stare takes its place, sending a sharp shiver down her spine. Ji-hun leans close. His voice drops low as he tells So-hyun she did something pretty cute. Then he asks for her thoughts on a hundred-thousand-won service. His gaze turns super intense, practically demanding an answer. Completely floored, So-hyun asks if he is implying that he bought her.

Then a sudden memory of the cash she left flashes through her mind. She instantly realizes the massive misunderstanding. She quickly clarifies that the money was strictly meant to cover the cost of his torn buttons. Even though his logic makes absolutely zero sense, she somehow finds herself feeling strangely captivated. So-hyun desperately tries making him understand, asking why on earth she would have left money otherwise.

She insists it was not a payment, telling him to clear up this crazy misunderstanding immediately. But Ji-hun's expression turns dead serious. He completely ignores her point. He just reminds her that what happened between them was entirely mutual. They stayed together until dawn, he says, simply because they both wanted to. Deeply flustered, So-hyun is left totally speechless, deeply regretting ever leaving that cash behind.

Pulling herself back together, she crosses her arms. She asks if he has time to talk right now, desperately trying to keep her composure. She demands to know why he wants to talk. Instead of answering, Ji-hun closes the distance, whispering that he just wants to spend time together. He pulls her closer, his voice dropping low. He admits he has been holding back all weekend long and that it was seriously tough.

Looking her dead in the eye, he asks if she felt the same way. A deep blush quickly creeps across So-hyun's face. Totally overwhelmed and embarrassed, she mutters an apology, turning away from his intense gaze. She just cannot give a real answer. Trying to push him away, So-hyun explains her personal rule, ending things with a guy after spending one night together.

Ji-hun just flashes a confident smirk, calling her completely innocent. Flustered, she insists nothing good ever comes from this kind of thing, adding that her conscience is really acting up. He just brushes it off, saying it would not be like that with him. She shoots the idea down flat, but he leans in closer, whispering that she is just pretending they are a bad match.

So-hyun goes totally silent. A deep blush spreads across her face, remembering just how special their night actually was. But then everything stops. Some new, incredibly intimidating guy suddenly corners her, grabbing her arm hard. She knows right away this guy is bad news. Flashing a smug grin, he mentions that her body seems to control her mind, asking if he has that right.

A nasty chill runs right down her spine. He leans in close, voice low and super possessive, reminding her about their past. He points out that he was the one holding that exact body. Completely stunned by the sudden appearance and those aggressive words, So-hyun just gasps. Jung Ji-hun coldly lectures her about it. A brand-new addition to the workforce really should not bring personal baggage into the office.

He completely brushes off their past connection, claiming their night together meant nothing to him. He refuses to waste any more time or energy on her. For a final cutting remark, he warns her not to get involved if she lacks interest. Absolutely stunned by his harsh tone, So-hyun takes a step back. Her heart pounds hard, wondering if this means the nightmare is finally over and if she can just escape to work.

Still reeling from that brutal dismissal, she decides she has had enough, turning to leave with a quick farewell. But before she can get away, Ji-hun stops her cold, asking if she even knows exactly how old he actually is. That random question completely throws her off balance, making her freeze in pure confusion. His playful vibe vanishes instantly, replaced by a totally icy stare.

Dropping his voice into a menacing tone, he asks how old he needs to be to make her life even more exhausting. The question just hangs there, a very clear, terrifying warning. So-hyun stares up at the guy cornering her, suddenly shocked by how young he really looks. His skin is absolutely flawless. A terrifying thought hits her like a massive truck.

Is this guy actually a minor? She screams internally, desperately trying to deny it, but he just smirks casually, asking when her lunch break starts. He suddenly pulls her in tight, and So-hyun immediately panics over the severe legal penalties attached to what he is implying. He gives her a choice. Contact him later, or come with him right now.

She is completely trapped. Gong So-hyun runs her hands through her hair in pure disbelief. Ji-hun leaves his bold suggestion hanging in the air. Skipping a single day of work is not a huge deal, but she thinks he has completely lost his mind. Turning on her heels, she walks away with her mind racing. So-hyun reflects that she never once felt guilty for chasing her own desires.

Being honest about personal needs is definitely no crime. But this encounter changes everything. After running into someone way more intense than she is, the actual danger of it all finally sets in. She vows to never do this again. Pushing through the crowd, her mind spirals. Getting involved with some young kid whose name she does not even know. Insane.

Luckily, her rising panic gets cut short by a sudden loud commotion. Later, back at the office, her bubbly junior Yeon-ju bounces right over, dying of curiosity. She asks about the extremely handsome guy who came looking for her earlier. So-hyun tries playing dumb, but Yeon-ju clarifies with a huge excited grin, calling him that cool high school student.

The harsh confirmation hits So-hyun hard, freezing her in absolute terror. Trying to play it cool, So-hyun tells Yeon-ju the guy is literally just some kid she knows. But when her junior starts gushing, asking if the pretty boy is her secret celebrity boyfriend, So-hyun forces a very strange smile. She quickly shuts it down fast, calling him a nasty jerk she would never introduce to anyone.

Realizing she has to draw a firm line and erase him from her life completely, she steps outside for some fresh air. Glaring at her phone, her frustration finally just boils over. She cannot believe this punk actually had the nerve to mess with her. Later, riding in a car, So-hyun swaps her anger for a cold, calculated smirk. She has handled incredibly difficult clients before and refuses to get dragged around by a teenager, vowing to tear his childish little threats apart.
