When a Lion Came Through Her Window

Synopsis

Nian Yan wakes in a world where one female is born for every seventy-nine males, and a female's touch is the only thing standing between a beastman and permanent madness. Certain she has none of that power herself, she picks two guardians — a blushing young major general and a doctor who never raises his voice — and asks for nothing more than a family. Then the general's instability level hits eighty, a lion lands on her bed in the dark, and she sees a black mist clinging to his fur that no one in the Empire has ever described. She reaches out to wipe it away.
