Josuke bolted down the street, fleeing to the opposite side of the road and ducking into a brightly lit convenience store. He burst through the entrance so violently that he crashed directly into a display aisle. The fly, having caught up, buzzed inches away from him.
Desperate, Josuke snatched a can of heavy-duty insecticide off a shelf and sprayed a thick cloud of chemicals into the air. Instantly the fly dropped out of the air and hit the floor, but it did not die. Instead, it began to crawl across the lino towards him.
Josuke retreated further into the depths of the store, slamming himself inside the tiny staff lavatory. Knowing that the infected puppets could only charge in a straight line, he left the door slightly ajar, planning to use the narrow gap as a funnel to trap the fly and smash it with the heavy can of bug spray.
With the weak point secured, his eyes drifted down to the floor outside the stall. He now spotted an overturned baby carriage. And just a few feet away, a young mother lying motionless on the ground.
A cold, suffocating sweat washed over Josuke as the pieces clicked together. Through the crack in the door, small bloody fingers slowly forced it open. Jumping back onto the toilet, Josuke watched the baby trying to force its way past his blockade.
Realising what must have happened, Josuke deduced that the fly had infected the mother, causing her to fall and crack her skull on the floor. Her splattered blood had then landed directly on her own infant, infecting him. Now the baby was dragging his tiny body across the floor, violently injuring its own fragile limbs as it tried to smash its way through the door.
Staring down at the infant, Josuke knew he could not simply let this child keep hurting itself. He relaxed his grip on the handle.
The door swung open, and the infected baby made contact with a shoe.
Instantly, the overwhelming power of Blue Hawaii took total possession of Josuke's mind, his eyes glazing over as he stepped out of the store, mindlessly heading towards the Mutsukabe shrine.
Once there, Dolomite sat on the edge of the murky pond, watching as a blank-faced Josuke emerged from the trees, and remarked mockingly that it had taken an awful lot of effort to finally reel him in. Dolomite smugly ordered his puppet to walk directly into the deep waters of the pond, but not before he had a few answers out of him. He used his stand and swiped Josuke's phone, confirming exactly what he had been up to. His destination had been Hanedo Mountain, to meet a plant appraiser with the ability to find the branch.
Completely satisfied with the information, Dolomite ordered Josuke to immerse himself in the water while he reminisced over the girl he used to love.
Lost in a self-indulgent daydream, Dolomite completely failed to notice a heavy metal pipe suddenly smash against the back of his skull. Collapsing into the dirt, Dolomite gasped in shock as his attacker was revealed to be Yasuho. Dolomite tried asking who she was, but she barked back at the rock human that he should worry less about who she was and more about what was going to happen to him.
Dazed and bleeding, Dolomite struggled to understand that she must have tracked Josuke's position after he was zombified, and used the GPS to work out where he was. After Yasuho had made her point about exactly how good a map user she was, she did not waste a single second, and demanded to know the exact identity of Dolomite's accomplice.
In a desperate bid to defend himself, Dolomite hardened his body into solid stone. But Yasuho was entirely unfazed. She casually shoved his petrified torso into a mud pit — a mud pit she had been able to find in the first place by using a topographical map provided to her by Paisley Park's ability. Realising he had no limbs to claw his way out with and would rapidly suffocate beneath the sludge, Dolomite panicked, shedding his stone armour and pathetically begging Yasuho to stop.
Instantly, he released the hold he had over Josuke and confessed everything. It was Jobin who had approached him at the shrine and ordered the hit on Josuke.
That was not all. Letting all of the information out, he revealed that Jobin might be the elder son in the Higashikata family, but he was no more than a low-level gopher for a massive, shadowy Locacaca smuggling organisation. He mocked their complete ignorance of the true scale of the nightmare they had stumbled into. He really had not wanted to have anything to do with the group. Damo and his boys had been bad to begin with. But getting close to the Locacaca was a one-way ticket to a horrific death, especially now that the fruit had evolved into a completely new, unpredictable version.
