Later on, Zeke found himself in a magic class headed by the magic theory professor, Finan. While Finan was busy stressing himself out trying to teach the class, every one of them except Zeke was asleep. Finan soon asked a question, and since no one was showing any interest, he was not expecting an answer. But to his surprise, Zeke contributed to the point he had just made.
Finan almost died of excitement, and he admitted that it was the first time he had ever been asked a question. Finan excitedly explained everything Zeke needed to know about mana transfer. The moment the class came to an end, the others woke up and got ready to leave. They were not worried about having slept, because they believed that learning magic theory at a knight academy was pretty useless.
Zeke, on the other hand, was impressed by the way Finan had delivered his lecture, because he had made it easy to follow. Zeke stood up to leave, but Finan ran after him and stopped him. Zeke asked Finan what the problem was, and Finan expressed his excitement that he had finally had a proper class, thanks to him. Because of this, he told Zeke that he was free to show up at his research lab any time he wanted, if he ever had anything he was curious about.
Finan then revealed that he was a scholarship alumnus of the Delpoa Magic University, which meant that he knew a great deal. Zeke was shocked to hear it, because an alumnus of the Magic University of Delpoa was no small fry. That was the nation where magic had originated. Zeke happily accepted the offer, since it would be beneficial for him to get close to a mage. Since mages are critical thinkers, Zeke believed they were better to have around than stuffy knights.
Zeke was walking through the hall when he suddenly spotted Duke lying on one of the public benches. He was shocked to see him there, but it told him that Duke was less patient than he had thought. Zeke had only avoided him for a week, and he had already shown up.
Zeke asked Duke why he was there, and Duke asked him why he had not come to the greenhouse. He reminded Zeke that he had promised to teach him some useful things. Zeke acted cold again, saying that he was not interested. It made Duke even crazier, and he asked Zeke why he was not interested. Zeke admitted that Duke was talented, but told him that he was currently busy with his individual training.
It turned out that Duke was not a man who took no for an answer, and before Zeke could even react, Duke had reached him. Duke knocked him out with a perfect strike to the back of the neck, and when he woke up, he found himself in the greenhouse. Zeke could not believe that Duke had literally knocked him out just because he had been kept waiting for a week.
Zeke was still looking around when Duke appeared in front of him. Zeke asked him whether he had abducted him, and Duke admitted it, saying that he was interested in him, which was why he had done it. Zeke could not believe that Duke was not even hiding his intentions, which showed just how impatient he was. However, Zeke did not think it was time for this yet.
Zeke activated swift step in an attempt to run away, but Duke caught up to him easily. Zeke gave it another try, and the result was exactly the same. Zeke realised that Duke was still treating the whole thing as a joke, and he worked out that he needed something to make him serious. Zeke then asked Duke why he was so interested in him, and Duke replied that he wanted to know how Zeke's internal wound had healed.
That was when it finally dawned on Zeke why Duke had been chasing him around. Zeke decided to spice things up by telling Duke to make him answer the question, if he was really that curious about it. Just then, Duke vanished, leaving Zeke wondering where the man had gone. By the time Duke reappeared, he had come back with Zeke's sword.
He threw Zeke his sword, telling him that they needed a bet to make things more interesting. Duke told Zeke that he would be granted one wish if he could graze his clothes. However, he told him that he was free to give up on the duel, and that if he did, he would have to tell him everything he had been hiding.
Three hours later, Zeke was still up and running, which left Duke totally surprised and stunned. Duke had worked out that Zeke did not only have unimaginable stamina, but appeared to be invincible, because his healing was limitless. On the other hand, Zeke knew that he could keep this up as long as he liked, and that even so, he would not be able to win the bet.
He then remembered the draconian skill, the might of the dragon. He had not used it before, because he believed it would be dangerous, but since he was going up against a black knight, he did not think it would be a problem. Zeke switched things up, and when Duke saw how crazy he looked as he stared him down, he got even more excited.
Zeke dashed toward Duke with swift step, but Duke blocked the attack. Nonetheless, Zeke kept attacking using the same pattern. Duke admitted that he was fast, but believed that he was still nothing compared to Reina. Even so, Duke was impressed by his tenacity. Finally, Zeke decided that it was time to use the might of the dragon. The moment he did, Duke felt an overwhelming force around him that made him hesitate for a fraction of a second.
Zeke used that moment to unleash a cloud of dust to impair Duke's vision. Duke was not worried, because he believed it would be just as hard for Zeke to find him in such a situation. Suddenly, Zeke appeared behind Duke, and he activated the dragon eyes to see exactly where he had to strike. Zeke swung his sword with everything he had, but to his surprise, Duke suddenly vanished.
That was when it dawned on him that Duke had just used his secret move, and that this was why he was known as the Gale Knight. Before Zeke knew it, Duke had reappeared very close to him, giving him no chance to react at all. By the time Zeke saw him, it was already too late. Zeke watched as Duke landed a devastating blow to his chest to knock him out, while telling him that he was going to consider the duel a draw.
Zeke was sent flying into the distance, and when he was finally stopped by a wall, the system told him that his fatigue had surpassed the acceptable limit, thanks to the excessive use of the draconian skill. The system let him know that his consciousness would be forcibly shut down to make sure that he was safe. Zeke tried to fight it, but he passed out nonetheless.
