While Feng Mian was busy with the wedding preparation, Zhang Liang got a call from Feng Shao.

"Liang, that Han Mei woman was bailed out of the jail. Her family forked out a large sum of money so that she can come out."

"Her family is already in shambles and yet they still want to pay a lot to bring her out?" Zhang Liang was surprised.

Feng Shao sighed. "Her family wanted her to get married to a rich man. He had already come knocking at their door for a proposal because he was interested in Han Mei's beauty."

He had also reported before that Han Mei was still trying to think of a way to harm Feng Mian in jail. After staying there for some time, Han Mei began to talk to herself and some people reported it to him. Because of that, Feng Shao paid attention to Han Mei's movement in case she could get out of the jail early.

"I got it."

Zhang Liang made a call to his friend to make inquiries and arrangements. After a few minutes, he had already finished what he needed to do and texted a message to Feng Mian, saying that he would be coming home late.

It took him a short time to arrive by the airport. He watched from the side as the Han Family was ordered to leave the city to a rural area. Even from afar, he could see that Han Mei was screaming loudly, saying how ungrateful he was for kicking her out after making his way with her.

The man was firm. He got a call to send her away to the rural areas to make sure that she didn't create more troubles here. When he found out who called, he decided to cancel the marriage and sent her away almost immediately.

Han Mei's legs were weak as she walked to the plane. Her eyes caught the sight of a man nearby. His feature nearly made her scream so loudly.

"If you're still thinking of harming my wife, Miss Han, I'm sure that you wouldn't know what will happen to you," Zhang Liang said calmly. His eyes were looking at Han Mei icily. "Don't you want to find out how much power I have against the law?"

Han Mei's pupil constricted. She was not completely dumb because she knew that the power these rich people had completely surpassed what ordinary people could possibly imagine. It might be easy for him to kill her even without dirtying his hand at all.

"You! What do you think Feng Mian will think if she knew that you're actually so evil like this?"

"It doesn't matter to you what she thought about me, does it?" Zhang Liang said unhurriedly. "I'm sure she's more clear of what I can do compared to someone like you."

When they first met, Feng Mian's wariness made him understand that she was trying hard not to offend him. It was simply because she was someone who had realized the dark side of the society. Even though people who were against him blatantly might be seen as interesting, he could only see them as dumb and idiot.

They were insulting him directly without worrying about what he might do to them, which would result in their end.

"You should stay quiet in Village V. I'm sure that you'll be happy to stay there rather than the jail."

Han Mei's eyes were filled with terror. She knew that he was threatening her. If she dared to go back and create troubles here, Zhang Liang wouldn't hesitate to end her life. It was easy for him to fabricate accidents or something like that.

"You demon!"

Han Mei was at a loss. She was unable to muster any more strength as she was dragged to the plane with Zhang Liang watching her movements carefully. He turned his head around and looked at the guard behind him, which was actually Feng Shao in disguise.

"If you want to send the video to her, make sure you also include the part where Han Mei is in jail and muttered her scheme."

Feng Shao's eyes flashed for a moment. "I understand."

Zhang Liang walked to the car calmly. Even though he knew that his action might be seen as excessive, he wanted to make sure that his family was safe. No matter what, he would not let any harm come to them. They were his precious family members. He couldn't afford to lose them at all.

From young, he had promised himself that He would do anything in his power to make sure that he kept his family safe. Even if it meant he had to dirty his hand, he didn't care anymore. What he wanted was nothing more than the safety and happiness of those important people around him.

Feng Shao held the video in his hand then sent it to his sister. He knew that Feng Mian had already known the dark side of this world. No matter whether it was ancient times, medieval times, or even modern times, there were always dangers everywhere. The form might be different, but it was important to know that there were people she had to always be wary.

Of course, they were rare to appear in front of normal and ordinary people. But since she was already inside Zhang Liang's world too, she ought to know that they will appear more often.

Inside her room, Feng Mian had just finished picking her dress with Zhang Ai when she received a message from Feng Shao.

'What is this?'

She had already expected it. Slowly, she texted her brother.

Feng Mian: Delete the video and destroy all evidence.

Feng Shao: Got it.

Even though it was common practice in the business world, they have to make sure that the law would not catch them. Feng Mian sighed as she stared at the screen in front of her.

It seems she's not really a good girl.

When it came to her family, she would be biased. She just wanted the best for them.

But she understood that Zhang Liang's fall would surely be related to her. From the moment they were married, or supposedly from that moment, everything that occurred to Zhang Liang would impact her and everything that occurred to her would have relation to Zhang Liang.

After all, they were tied together in a beautiful tie called marriage. A tie that was unbreakable until the rest of their lives.

Zhang Liang could see that Feng Mian was holding her phone. He could guess that she had just finished watching the video, but he would not bother with it. He believed that she understood his action very well.

"How's the preparation?"

"I already picked the dress," Feng Mian's expression brightened at the mention of the preparation. "Yu Yan also helped me out by making the invitation. It was beautiful!"

"That's good," Zhang Liang replied and walked closer. He planted a kiss on her forehead. The sweet fragrance assaulted his nose as he felt that he could never get enough of her. As he looked at her once more, his eyes were filled with d.e.s.i.r.e.

Feng Mian's cheek blushed when she saw Zhang Liang's expression. However, she extended her hand and pulled him closer. Because of their height difference, Zhang Liang had to bend down a bit before his face was right in front of her and Feng Mian kissed him directly.

With that, Zhang Liang didn't hesitate to kiss back and directly brought his wife to their bed.

Days passed swiftly. Feng Mian didn't really have to do much for her preparation because everyone was helping her. Zhang Yi was the most excited one and called almost all his friends to attend the party. Thinking of the birthday party that Zhang Yi held before, Lu Di La already felt a headache because the seat wouldn't be enough. Some of the guests would have to settle for the chairs outside the building.

In the end, they decided on the mixed ceremony. which meant that it would be conducted in both western modern marriage ceremony and afterwards, it would be the traditional Chinese marriage ceremony.

Western marriage ceremony I mentioned here referred to exchanging vows between the grooms and the bride after the priest gave his speech/blessing. It was usually conducted in church, but in modern times, it can be moved to a hotel or some other places. In this ceremony, usually the brides will wear long white dresses while the groom wears a suit.

Chinese wedding I mentioned here referred to the traditional marriage where the groom and bride would bow three times. It was usually followed with a long custom and tradition from the betrothal gifts until the three day's visit after the marriage. The groom and the bride usually wore red colored clothes as it was the symbol of happiness.

Mixed marriage ceremonies were common in my country for Chinese descendants. They would have the normal marriage vows in the church and later on, they would be holding the simplified Chinese marriage ceremony. It usually consisted of the three bows then drinking tea that the bride prepared for the parents. After giving tea, the parents would usually give red packets to the newlywed.
