Chapter 20: Chapter Twenty: Ashira System
Chapter Twenty: Ashira System
The Evil God was a legend.
A powerful and kindhearted primordial deity — until, one day, he suddenly betrayed the righteous path, becoming the universe's greatest evil. Not even the first-generation gods could stop his rampage.
Twilight didn't know what had caused the Evil God to transform into the universe's most feared unholy lord, but he knew that an Evil God's key could mean many things.
For one, it could be a lead to one of the god's numerous legacies or perhaps a priceless treasure.
Whatever the key led to, one thing was certain: its value was immeasurable. Yet, with his current strength, Twilight knew that reaching its destination was nothing more than a pipe dream.
And even if he somehow managed to get there, the guardian protecting the location would be far beyond his capabilities and would be strong enough to kill him instantly.
Twilight knew this wasn't an exaggeration. Anything related to the Evil God was never to be taken lightly.
Even gods would be wary. And if they were cautious, he had no confidence in surviving such a threat. What a joke.
Something even omnipotent gods dreaded. What more could a measly first stage magic apostle like him accomplish?
After coming to this conclusion, Twilight decided that no matter how valuable the Evil God's key was, he couldn't use it... not yet.
With his current strength, reaching the location was near impossible. And even if he made it, seizing whatever lay there would be a fool's errand.
Even so, he decided to inspect the key's information. That was the least he could do.
There was always a slim chance that it wasn't connected to a treasure or legacy but had an immediate use.
After pondering for a few moments, he called upon his status screen and focused on a single point:
---
[Status: Seeker]
---
A player with the Seeker status had multiple privileges, one of which was a special bag space.
Normally, players unlocked a standard bag space upon reaching the first stage of a magic apostle and choosing a class. This space allowed them to store a limited amount of resources.
However, Seekers had an advantage. The moment they became a first stage magic apostle, they unlocked a special bag space.
While this wasn't a major lead— since players could unlock their class upon becoming cultivators— the difference between an ordinary bag space and a special one was significant.
A special bag space!
Although Twilight had just entered the Astral Realm and knew little about its intricacies, rumors of its power had spread, far enough for him to be aware.

Shaking off his thoughts, he focused on the glowing words before him, allowing him to access more information.

[Status: Seeker]
[Privileges:
[Fragment of the Sovereign System]
[Fragment of the Ashira System]
[Special Bag Space]
[Sovereign Friendlist Option]
[Priority to Obtain a Special Class]
[Unattained]
[Unattained]
[Unattained]
...
---
Twilight examined his privileges, curiosity flickering deep within his grey eyes.
Yet, after reading past Priority to Obtain a Special Class, everything else was listed as 'Unattained'.
This wasn't surprising. A Seeker's privileges increased with their strength.
Even so, Twilight ignored what he hadn't unlocked and focused on what he had.
---
{Privilege: [Fragment of the Sovereign System]
{Privilege Description: {As a player, you bear a fragment of the Sovereign System. However, as a Seeker, you represent humanity in the Astral Realm. You not only carry a fragment of the system but also its power. With this power, you can absorb the system fragments of other races and significantly increase your strength.}
{Privilege: [Special Bag Space]
{Privilege Description: {Your special bag space can store ten times the items an ordinary bag space can accommodate.}
{Privilege: [Sovereign Friendlist Option]
{Privilege Description: {This privilege allows you to add other players to your exclusive Seeker's Friendlist. Once added, you can contact them at any distance.}
{Privilege: [Priority to Obtain a Special Class]
{Privilege Description: {While regular players can only choose basic classes and unlock special ones later, as a Seeker, you have the privilege to choose both a basic and special class as soon as you meet the requirements.}
{Privilege: [Fragment of the Ashira System]
{Privilege Description: {As a Seeker carrying elf blood, you represent the elves in the Astral Realm and are granted a fragment of their system. With this fragment, you wield half the power of the elves' Ashira System and can devour the system fragments of other races to enhance your personal strength.}
---
Twilight stared, dazed.
Not because of the Special Bag Space or the Sovereign Friendlist Option.
Not even because of his Priority to Obtain a Special Class.
What left him stunned was the fact that he bore not one, but two system fragments — one from the humans and the other from the elves.
It wasn't a secret that humans weren't Earth's only race after the descent of the Astral Realm.
Four dominant races now ruled:
The Elves had their Ashira System, Humans bore the Sovereign System, Vampires wielded the Ryshara System and the Giants had the Mirasha System.
Each system had descended with the Astral Realm, binding itself to a race. But these races weren't allies and the Astral Realm was only a battlefield, a place to determine superiority.
From the bits of knowledge he had gathered from Alice, Twilight knew that absorbing other races' system fragments could strengthen the Sovereign System, making humanity stronger.
This was why Seekers were called representatives of their races — because they carried a fragment of their system's power.
Yet here he was, bearing the fragments of two different races.
Was that even possible?
How could two system fragments exist within the same body?
If he wasn't the one currently experiencing it, Twilight wouldn't have believed that it was possible, even if the speaker swore with his life.
Even so, that wasn't the most unsettling part.
He was a human... wasn't he?
Yet the Sovereign System had labeled him a DoomElf.
At first, he had dismissed it as an error. But now, as he stared at the Ashira System Fragment in his Seeker's privileges, he realized he was the one who had been mistaken.
Still, he couldn't bring himself to believe it. He had clear memories of his parents — both were humans.
Unless...
Unless one of them wasn't, and they had hidden their identity using magic or other means.
It wasn't impossible.
Even so, the revelation shook him to his core.
'So... I'm part elf. But what about the 'Doom' part?' he wondered, intrigued.
However, before he could dwell on it further, a sound echoed throughout the hall.
As he observed, he noticed that the poisonous slime balls — the final attacks of the Night Wing — had finally vanished.
