Chapter 3The Turtles and the Trap

The head of the Immortals guild had long been looking for a partner who could become a good merchant. His name was Robert Franklin, and he always kept his promises and duties to others. Romero saw nothing wrong with talking to this smiling and good-natured man. The guy acted as if he had never had to betray friends for profit.

So Jake felt relaxed in his company, because he was not in any danger. It turned out that Robert was looking for tokens of hidden classes, about which little was currently known. There were several main professions in this world that not everyone agreed to take on. Most players had tried in vain to find even one token with a secret class.

And Franklin was willing to pay Jake big money for every such badge he found. Romero didn't believe that he would soon be so lucky in his search. But Robert appreciated the potential of the hero, who had become famous on the server in just a couple of days. Jake didn't want to join anyone's team, because he was used to working completely alone.

But it turned out that Franklin didn't even try to invite the hero to the guild, because he only wanted cooperation. Romero had never played games before, so he knew little about other famous and strong players. But in reality, there had been a popular game where just one player defeated everyone on the server. Robert saw in Jake an equally strong player, and that's why he wanted to collaborate with him.

So the final decision was up to Romero, and he needed time to think about it. For now, the boy wanted to focus on completing the task that Lunali had given him. But the game world was now small. So the young man soon came across an enemy guild again. A small group of the Invincibles once again showed interest in the hero.

Although he would have preferred to pass by, the young man didn't want to waste time on players, as it was more profitable to fight monsters. Until the very end, the guys tried to persuade Jake to join them, since they didn't know him by sight. Susie was confident that no one could cope with the huge turtles alone. She didn't yet know that the hero had obtained the best weapon from the secret caches.

After the young man had beaten their leader, he did not want to cooperate with anyone from the Invincibles. That's why he passed by. Despite the fact that the group was very persistent until the very end, the young man didn't just come to the coast alone, because he had a good plan. While everyone was huddling together to defeat the turtles, the hero was pursuing a different strategy.

He understood that it would be more advantageous to unite with someone against such creatures. But he didn't want to. After all, then Jake would have to share information from the monster chat with his comrades. Romero was so confident in his abilities because the turtles had written about a trap somewhere on the shore. And soon the hero found the very place from which the monsters could not escape on their own.

Jake wasn't worried about the destruction of the turtles, because all the monsters were soon reborn, and he just needed to collect their ingredients to complete the quest from Lunali. Gradually, other players also dealt with the turtles, but they spent much more time. That same group of Invincibles was able to deal with only one monster, but was already happy.

Their commander, Mike Ball, saw no obstacles at all, as he had assembled a good team. Everything could have ended well if the group had not accidentally noticed the hero's battle. They all began to watch in surprise the guy who was single-handedly dealing with the monsters. The hero dealt so much damage at once that the monsters did not have time to attack him in response.

The Invincibles group only now realized how disrespectful they had been to the player. They couldn't just pass by, because Jake had found a good position to level up his skills. So every player wanted to take his place, since this trap was easy to win. But Mike wasn't sure Romero would let them join his fight. They would not have come up with anything if Thomas had not expressed his interesting idea.

Their guild had a large number of people, whom the guy offered to call for help. Ball liked the idea so much that he immediately began to implement it. Meanwhile, the hero continued to receive small resources from each destroyed turtle. Although the necessary ingredients rarely dropped out, the guy got a lot of weapons to sell. At that moment, he acted so relaxed because he was unaware of the arrival of the Invincibles guild.

Not a single formidable turtle frightened the hero, since they still could not get to the shore. As soon as the monster got stuck in the rocks, it was Jake's turn to start fighting. The guy was only glad that he was able to obtain rare resources so easily. But suddenly the fight didn't go according to plan, as Romero was hit with a very strong blow.

One of the strong bosses had appeared on the coast, and the hero had been waiting for his arrival from the very beginning. This turtle acted much faster and smarter than its allies. So it would not be easy with it. But Jake had no intention of retreating, despite the fact that he had to fight alone. For him, any difficult battle was an opportunity to once again prove himself on the server.

As soon as Mike's group saw the scary boss, they changed their minds about joining the battle. While the hero boldly ran towards the enemy, who was inferior to him in speed. Only thanks to his improved agility did the young man dodge serious blows in time. He was used to overcoming difficulties in reality, and he transferred his efforts to the game.

So the monster had a hard time in the fight with Romero, although he acted without friends. Mike's friends retreated in horror at the power the elite turtle possessed. During the battle, even the hero became exhausted, since the enemy had too much health. Before the guy could deal with one enemy, players from the Invincibles guild rushed at him.
