Chapter 4A Nap on a Cloud

Tetia is one of the apprentice witches at Qifrey's atelier. She wants to create magic that makes people happy. More than anything else, she dreams of perfecting her own cloud magic, a spell that brings warmth and comfort to anyone inside it.

When she was younger, Tetia imagined what it would feel like to nap on a soft cloud in the sky. That simple idea stayed with her. Since then, she has been experimenting with spell drawing, trying to turn that dream into reality. Her goal is not just to create it, but to perfect it enough to submit as an official spell that all witches can use.

Her personality is one of her strongest traits. Tetia is extremely cheerful, kind, and full of energy. She always tries to help the people around her and keep the mood positive. In many situations, she acts as the emotional center of the group, keeping everyone happy when things get difficult.

One of the best examples of this is when Coco first arrives at the atelier. Coco is afraid to interact with magic after what happened to her mother. Tetia encourages Coco and offers to show her how a simple spell works. She introduces her to the vapor bubble spell and helps her feel safe around magic again.

Another moment that highlights her personality is her love for gratitude. Tetia genuinely enjoys it when people thank her. For example, when Coco thanks Tetia, Tetia immediately thanks her back. Then Coco thanks her again, and Tetia responds again. This keeps going in a loop until Riche steps in to stop them. Riche says the best way to deal with Tetia in moments like this is to just leave her alone until she calms down on her own.

But in the end, Tetia is just a kid. The moment that shows her weakness comes when things go wrong and they get caught up in the Brimmed Cap mess that was really only supposed to affect Coco. Long story short, Tetia begins to panic. For a short moment, she even looks at Coco as if blaming her for everything that happened. Although she does not say it out loud, Coco knows exactly what her expression reveals.

Tetia feels guilty for how she treated Coco, and takes responsibility for it. She apologizes and admits that her thinking was wrong. Instead of blaming Coco for not knowing enough, Tetia understands that it was her own responsibility to guide her as the more experienced apprentice.

Even among apprentices, her mindset toward learning magic is also admirable. Tetia believes that improvement does not come from repeating things blindly. Instead, she focuses on understanding the patterns. When something goes wrong, she believes you should figure out why it failed. When something works, you should understand why it succeeded. This way of thinking allows her to grow in a more meaningful way.

When she becomes a proper witch, Tetia plans to travel across the world and use magic to help people everywhere. She wants to hear people say thank you in as many languages as possible. To her, magic that helps someone and receives gratitude in return creates happiness for both sides. In short, she wants to cast spells that produce feelings of thanks.

Another small but meaningful detail about her dream is her future appearance. When witches graduate, they are allowed to design their own hats. Tetia is already excited about this. She wants to create a special hat with two points. For now, as an apprentice, she wears the standard hat made by Qifrey, who insists that it's cute.

Because of her personality, Tetia thinks it's not a crazy idea that people who use magic and people who don't could be friends. Keep in mind, in their world, most people would think this idea is pretty strange. A good example is when she tells Prince Eolio Ezrest that in her mind, they are already friends. This totally shocks Eolio.
