Ininia is an apprentice Brimmed Cap witch who serves under her master, Restis. Unlike the witches trained under the Pointed Cap system, she follows a completely different belief. As a brimmed hat apprentice, she introduces herself as a witch who offers aid in the fullest sense, meaning she is willing to use any kind of magic, even the forbidden kind, if it helps someone.
Ininia is a quiet girl. Most of the time, her expression does not change, making it hard to understand what she is thinking. But two things about her are very clear. She is loyal to her master, and she strongly believes that the Pointed Cap witches are in the wrong.
Her biggest belief centers on forbidden magic. Ininia sees no issue with using magic that has been banned, especially when it comes to healing. To her, refusing to use magic that could help people is what is truly wrong. Because of this, she views the Pointed Cap witches as misguided for limiting access to powerful spells.
Although she often looks down on those she is not close to, Ininia treats people kindly once she considers them a friend. Basically, those she calls friends are spared from her more harmful magic, while her allies will receive her help. Her idea of friendship is a little unusual. For example, she thought she could become real friends with Custas after seeing him get angry at the world and at witches. But in the end, she was disappointed, because his anger was so shallow.
Ininia carries a long staff with a lavender crystal ball at its tip. This staff can also be used to fly, similar to a witch's broom. Additionally, it serves as her connection to her master, Restis. On top of that, her gloves are filled with magic ink that allows her to reverse time on a small scale. This ability lets her undo injuries by turning time back on a person's body. Ininia's hands are the roots of a parasitic silverwood tree. When she takes off her gloves, she can use the roots to attack and burst them out of control.
The clearest example of her power comes during her first appearance. You see, after Custas and Dagda are attacked by bandits, the situation becomes critical. Dagda is on death's door and Custas returns to help him. This is when Ininia reveals the truth about magic, and then uses her ability to reverse time via counterclock spells, healing Dagda's injuries, although not completely saving him from his impending death. This moment shows exactly what she believes. If magic can save someone, it should be used, no matter the rules.
Her villainy becomes even clearer during the Silver Eve Festival. Appearing suddenly behind Coco and Tarta, she traps them using magical bracelets. These restraints tighten and burn into their veins if they resist, forcing them to cooperate. Her objective is very specific. She wants access to the king. The Silver Eve procession is the only time a witch without status can approach the king without suspicion. Because of this, she and Custas order Coco and Tarta to help them enter the pavilion and secure an audience. Only when Coco and Tarta demonstrate that they are friends with Custas will she gladly remove the cuffs.
According to Ininia, their goal is not to harm anyone. On top of granting her master's demands, they want to restore the old spells of Yord that were sealed away, including forbidden magic used for fighting, transformation, and healing. Ininia is the one who used forbidden magic to give Custas functioning legs. She sees no reason to deny someone help if the power exists to give it.
One of her most dangerous traits is her willingness to remove obstacles without hesitation. If someone stands in the way of the Brimmed Caps' plan, she is fully prepared to erase their memories or take action against them. As a mere child, however, there's a deep conscience inside her that feels bad knowing that her victim was forced to forget someone dear to him.
Even with this, Ininia always shows respect to her master, Restis. She always asks for permission before using her magic, showing that her loyalty is absolute. According to Ininia, her palms are dedicated to doing her master's bidding, and her soles are to travel where her master cannot.
