Chapter 4Sing to Save the Puppies

Then he remembered that Pakito's secretary, Shin, moved around much more often than Pakito himself, which made him an easier target to approach.

Not long after, Sher successfully intercepted Shin and called out his name. The moment Shin heard him, he mistook Sher for a street vendor and immediately said that he was not interested in buying socks. Sher quickly denied being a salesman and explained that he was carrying documents related to a university assignment in which he needed to interview an alpha president. He believed that approaching Shin professionally would work best.

Shin listened calmly for a moment before suddenly extending his hand. Sher thought he was finally making progress. Instead, Shin instantly slammed him into the ground.

Shin casually commented that Sher's small size made him very easy to throw around. Trying to stay calm, Sher replied that if it made Shin happy, then it was fine, though he admitted that Shin must be really strong. Surprised by how resilient Sher was, Shin asked whether it did not hurt. Sher proudly responded that he had a very sturdy body. So Shin proceeded to throw him around even more.

Sher immediately began shouting, "Okay, enough, enough." Meanwhile, Shin seemed oddly impressed and kept going anyway. Despite the suffering, Sher still complimented Shin's technique.

Shin then explained that Pakito would never accept anything from an omega like him, because he was extremely strict. Sher realized that he had endured all this hoping it would help somehow, only for it to apparently be useless. However, Shin eventually gave him an important piece of information. That night at eight o'clock, Pakito would be at a karaoke bar.

Before leaving, Shin warned Sher that if the information leaked, he would cut off his fingers like cucumbers. Terrified, Sher immediately swore that he would take the secret to his grave.

As Sher ran away, Shin pulled out his phone and sent a message to Bai, one of Sher's older brothers. In an earlier message, Bai had asked Shin to keep an eye on his little brother and to help him if necessary, because Sher had recently been having family problems and Bai worried that someone might bully him. Shin could not help wondering how Bai would react if he discovered exactly which man his little brother was chasing after.

When the time finally came, Sher arrived at the karaoke bar and was shocked by how elegant the place looked. While trying to peek through one of the doors, a red-haired guy noticed him and asked whether he was the omega they had hired to entertain everyone. Before Sher could even react, the guy grabbed him and dragged him inside, loudly announcing that the omega had arrived.

Immediately, a group of alphas surrounded Sher enthusiastically. They started asking for his name and complimenting how good he smelled. Surprised by their friendliness, Sher introduced himself. One of the alphas commented that his name sounded unique, and soon everyone was raising drinks in his honor while calling him adorable.

Meanwhile, Sher thought that the alphas were incredibly kind and that the cocktails were even better. So, naturally, he drank far too much.

A little later, Shin appeared and froze in disbelief at the sight before him. He asked Sher why he was not with the president. Meanwhile, a completely drunk Sher sat surrounded by four affectionate alphas. Clearly intoxicated, Sher complained to Shin, asking why he constantly had to chase after Pakito when he could instead spend time around kind, handsome and affectionate people. Shin was left speechless.

At that exact moment, Pakito walked in and asked what was going on. The entire room instantly fell silent.

Soon afterward, Pakito sat down with a deadly serious expression while the five boys knelt in front of him. The atmosphere became painfully tense, so Sher decided to break the silence by suggesting that Pakito sing a song. Pakito shot him a murderous glare and told him to stop fooling around.

He demanded to know why Sher kept approaching him and even his subordinates, and asked whether this was yet another university assignment. The boys, now offended, complained to Sher for deceiving them. Sher, clearly annoyed, thought that he had already explained everything earlier. They just had not listened.

Before he could answer, Pakito threw a microphone at him and ordered him to sing something to entertain everyone. Then, with a provocative smile, Pakito suggested making things more interesting. He explained that the game was called Sing to Save the Puppies. According to Pakito, one troublesome dog had betrayed its owner by leaking information without permission, while the other four dogs had done nothing wrong except annoy him simply by existing.

While staring directly at Sher, Pakito explained the rules. The four puppies could help Sher sing any song he wanted. But there was one condition. He had to score above ninety points on the karaoke machine. If they succeeded, Pakito would pretend that nothing had happened. But if they failed, not only would Sher be punished, the others would suffer an even worse fate.

At that moment, the system issued a new side mission. Save the four rainbow boys and Secretary Shin in order to recruit them into Sher's group. The punishment for failure was simple. All five of them would go and meet St. Peter immediately.

Sher hesitated for a moment, but eventually reasoned that allies could be useful for future missions, so he accepted the challenge. Still, he could not help wondering why Pakito was acting this way. The system then informed him that he had unlocked a new personality trait for Pakito, meaning that he could now attract Pakito's attention more effectively. When Sher checked the trait description, it basically revealed that Pakito was someone who enjoyed watching people desperately struggle to survive.

Sighing deeply, Sher accepted the game, but only on one condition. If he won, Pakito would have to grant him one wish. Pakito agreed, as long as the request stayed within reason.

Sher grabbed the microphone and decided to sing something unforgettable. Smiling proudly, he began performing a ridiculously cheerful children's song. Shin applauded with complete resignation while internally thinking that everyone was about to meet St. Peter very soon.

The karaoke machine slowly processed the score as everyone waited nervously. Finally, the result appeared. Ninety-six points.

The room fell silent for a few seconds before exploding into cheers. Shin admitted that he had had absolutely no faith in Sher, but was happy to still be alive, although Pakito made it very clear that he still had not forgiven him for bringing such an easygoing omega there. The rainbow boys apologized to Sher for treating him badly earlier, and Sher exchanged a knowing glance with Shin. The system confirmed that the mission had been successfully completed.
