Commander Lu's Wife, Listed as Illiterate

Synopsis

Lin Yao is married off in her older sister's place, then travels a thousand miles to a military compound to find the husband who has already filed to end it. Lu Jiao takes one look at the pregnancy report and runs to withdraw the application, but the compound has decided what she is: a pretty village girl who cannot read. When a doctor with her own claim on Lu Jiao announces Lin Yao's literacy-class enrolment to a hall full of officers, the laughter reaches the third row. Lin Yao lets them laugh. Nobody has asked what she taught herself from her sister's old textbooks.
