In the present, Yeri was reading Kiyo's apology letter, which contained details about everything his father had done to him. Shocked, Yeri muttered about who writes an apology letter like this, but internally he realized that it finally explained why Kiyo hated alphas so deeply.
The man who had hired Yeri had spoken to him tearfully. He said that Kiyo had murdered his husband, a man who had been on the verge of becoming a leading congressional candidate and who had been admired by everyone. The ring on his finger matched the one worn by Kiyo's lawyer, revealing a connection between them.
Meanwhile, Pigeon approached Kiyo, who was hyperventilating from shock. Pigeon told him gently to trust him and said that he would hold him tightly for a few minutes to help him calm down. He insisted that it was only a treatment to help him relax, and claimed that someone had sent him there specifically to help him, possibly even Kiyo's mother.
Kiyo collapsed to the ground. As Pigeon approached, Kiyo once again wondered whether this person was a dog trying to help him or a wolf trying to destroy him. Kiyo asked how Pigeon even knew what had happened to him. Pigeon noticed that he was having a panic attack and suggested that he might need medication. He explained that he also worked in the infirmary, on the opposite shift from the other guy.
Kiyo thought to himself that Yeri might claim to care about his safety, but that right now Pigeon was the only one truly helping him. Still, Kiyo backed away and told him not to touch him. Pigeon immediately apologized, realizing that he shouldn't have grabbed him during a panic attack.
The grieving man had cried as he explained that his husband had been about to become Congress's leading candidate and had been admired by everyone.
At the same time, after reading Kiyo's letter, Yeri realized that Kiyo had already been through hell. If things had truly been that terrible, he could understand why Kiyo might have killed alphas.
Back in the library, Pigeon placed a hand on Kiyo's shoulder and told him that someone genuinely needed him, especially if he was capable of taking revenge on his father. Confused, Kiyo asked what he meant and who he really was. Pigeon said that Kiyo didn't look well and insisted on treating him first. He hugged Kiyo and began releasing his pheromones, but the scent immediately caused Kiyo to hallucinate his father's face. Terrified, he violently pushed Pigeon away and ran.
Elsewhere, a doctor wondered where inmate 18818, Yeri, was supposed to be, since he should already have been on duty.
At the same time, Yeri was secretly speaking on the phone with the man who had hired him to kill Kiyo, whom they knew as the Widow. Yeri apologized for calling suddenly and explained that he had borrowed the phone from someone he knew. He asked the Widow for records from Kiyo's first trial and the case files, because he wanted to understand how Kiyo had selected his victims.
The Widow agreed to get the files, but questioned why Yeri suddenly needed them. He asked whether the plan had changed. Yeri said no, that he simply wanted to understand Kiyo's weaknesses better.
After the call ended, another mysterious man commented that apparently even a hungry wolf needed a reason to hunt. He remarked that things were becoming very interesting.
After hanging up, Yeri cursed under his breath, because even the blockers no longer seemed effective. Reading Kiyo's apology letter almost felt like Kiyo unconsciously confessing his crimes. At the same time, Yeri kept thinking about the Widow's words, that something about all this felt wrong.
Suddenly someone pounded on the door and called Yeri outside. He returned the phone to a guard, while Pigeon exited another room holding a phone of his own. The moment they saw each other, both froze in surprise. Yeri immediately realized that Pigeon had probably been calling someone too, while Pigeon understood that Yeri must have been speaking to his client.
As Yeri walked away, Pigeon asked teasingly what would happen if someone stole the world's tastiest thing directly from another person's lips. At that moment Yeri noticed Kiyo's scent lingering all over Pigeon. Before he could react further, a doctor arrived and scolded Yeri for skipping duty.
That evening, Kiyo returned to his room thinking about Pigeon. He wondered just how many enemies his father could possibly have. Looking at his apology letter, he questioned how someone could use him for revenge against that monster, and how he could possibly help defeat him. Then Kiyo quietly whispered that his father deserved to die.
Suddenly Yeri spoke from behind him, asking who Kiyo planned to kill now. He teased him for forgetting about dinner, because his target must be so important. Startled, Kiyo quickly hid the letter and denied everything. Yeri narrowed his eyes and asked if the target was him. Kiyo insisted it wasn't.
Yeri suddenly grabbed Kiyo by the collar and smelled him closely. Internally, he instantly recognized the scent as Pigeon's. Kiyo pulled away and awkwardly suggested that they just go eat.
But inside, Yeri was furious. He was already irritated by Pigeon, and now Kiyo had returned covered in that man's scent. Kiyo was equally confused, because he had pushed Pigeon away immediately, yet somehow the scent had still remained on him. He wondered if Yeri had simply become overly sensitive.
Yeri placed a hand on Kiyo's shoulder and warned him not to ignore serious questions. He pointed out that Kiyo had always claimed to hate all alphas, yet he had allowed someone besides Yeri to get close to him. Then he coldly promised that tonight Kiyo would explain everything in detail.
That night, after lights out, everyone went to sleep. But Yeri quietly got out of bed while Kiyo trembled nervously. Yeri grabbed him by the collar and asked whether he had forgotten his warning. After smelling him again and finding Pigeon's scent still lingering, Yeri bit Kiyo's neck and demanded to know what inmate 2089 had done to him.
Kiyo insisted that nothing had happened. Yeri asked why Kiyo had avoided him throughout dinner if that was true. Internally, Kiyo thought that he had only avoided him because he didn't want Yeri misunderstanding things. Yeri suggested sarcastically that Kiyo was angry because Yeri had stopped paying attention to him for a few nights.
Kiyo desperately thought that he had done nothing wrong. Yet for some reason he couldn't get the words out. When Kiyo still didn't answer properly, Yeri accused him of deliberately provoking him.
Finally frustrated, Kiyo snapped and said that whatever he did with inmate 2089 shouldn't matter to Yeri anyway. Hearing that, Yeri's expression darkened. Kiyo tried to continue speaking, but Yeri cut him off by kissing him.
After pulling away, Yeri removed his shirt and admitted that he wasn't someone who usually put in extra effort for others, but that he was willing to make a small exception for Kiyo. Then he smirked and told him that it was time for punishment. Even so, he promised that he would go easy on him, because technically Kiyo had never truly confessed to anything. Yeri simply wasn't satisfied with his answers.
The two then spent the night together intimately.
Elsewhere, a man was working in an office, the same man who had sent Yeri to the prison to kill Kiyo. He studied a document before calling his assistant. The assistant asked what he needed, and the man replied, "When is the second trial for our case? Arrange a prison visit for me before then."
