Jess, rising to his feet, shouted that this bastard with the two attributes was a real pain, so they should unite and destroy him immediately.
They rushed to the attack and surrounded Neil, who laughed loudly and pulled off his clothes, shouting that this was better. He parried his opponents' attacks one after another with ease, saying that it did not even tickle, and that they were all simply too weak.
He grabbed one of them by the leg, spun him around and threw him aside into another. One of them said that he had opened his back that way, and Neil, smiling, took the blow, and the boy asked whether he had really managed it. A moment later he was thrown aside with incredible speed, and his hand was bleeding heavily. He cried out in pain, and Neil thought it had been a mosquito.
The boy grimaced and said that he had used magic to protect one single point on his body. How could this recently awakened brat control mana at the level of a student? He did not understand what was happening when Neil slammed him into the wall again. The boy broke the wall with his body and could not move.
Derrick told everyone to listen. Even when they became warriors, they must not forget the basics. If they did not want to end up like him—
Louis said that this was cruel. Did he not think he had gone too far?
Jess shouted at the others to stop distracting them. And at that moment a student exclaimed that they were getting exactly what they deserved.
Cain said that as long as he was here, he would not let anyone lay a finger on him.
Fay shouted as well. Fire against fire. Now they would see who was stronger.
At that moment Louis created a magical vortex, and Jess smiled and said that it was time for the main event.
They came to a stop facing each other and looked into each other's faces, smiling.
Jess said that he imagined himself a great warrior, but what an arrogant and ignorant boy he was. He was the heir of the Harren family, and he would teach him the meaning of dignity and pride, and the manners of a true nobleman.
After that he pushed off from the ground and rushed straight at Louis in a flurry. Magic tore through the whole area, but Louis began to resist with his own magical power, and no one understood how it happened.
Had he really just used an ice shield?
Louis deflected it easily, and Jess, surprised by this, was thrown aside. He asked whether this was water magic. His hand was frozen, and Louis confirmed that it was indeed one of the techniques of water magic.
At that moment everyone was distracted by what had just happened, and Milana too was surprised at what he had done. All the students were astonished. Was this an ice shield? They had never heard of such water magic.
Jess realised that he had become overconfident. And Brian had been right that the first-years this year were all unruly, since things had been going so well. But before he could finish the thought, Neil punched one of the upperclassmen right in the face and sent him flying.
Jess chuckled at that, and then saw Neil rushing straight at him. He started shouting. Was he really to be the next punching bag?
When Neil tried to hit him, he dodged the attacks and asked him to try hitting him if he could. Neil grew angry and turned, and began setting everything around him on fire with his rage and hatred.
Cain yelled at him to calm down.
Neil was furious with Jess, who kept dodging his attacks, and shouted that he was just a bastard. Stop running. Let him fight fair.
When he slammed his fists on the floor, everything around him lit up with magical power, and Louis noticed Jess coming straight at him with an attack.
Louis put out his hand again and said that Jess talked about pride and honour, and then attacked from behind. Nobles were worthless after all.
He grinned and said that as a nobleman he had simply made the right decision for the sake of victory.
Neil was extremely irritated and shouted that everything was infuriating him. He went on trying to hit Jess, who flew aside to avoid the attack and thought that two against one was no easy task. Then he used the green magical light with which he tried to strike Neil — but Neil appeared behind him and shouted at him not to interfere. The crazy freak simply did not understand why he could not work out that it was best to team up.
"Good," Neil shouted. "No one will interfere now."
Louis crouched low as well, and Neil said that now he wanted to finish this.
Derrick reflected that this style specialised in fast movement in confined spaces. He was a true fighting genius — perhaps even better than William.
Louis felt that he had found what he needed. His weak point. He seized Neil's arm, and Neil began to cough loudly. Louis said that this ought to have stopped him, and Fay cried out to him to watch out now.
Neil grabbed his arm too and said that he had finally caught him. Let him feel the pain right now.
He struck Louis with incredible force and shouted. How could an insect do that to him? The fun was only beginning.
Louis, with his cheek bloody, said that the academy rules forbade deliberately injuring others. He had crossed the line.
At that moment magical ice power poured off him, and Neil shouted that this was quite interesting, but not enough.
The teacher had said to show the body he was so proud of, hadn't he? So he was not running and he was not hiding.
Louis asked whether he really preferred it harder.
Neil was silent, and then screamed that there was no need even to ask. This pain was simply unbearable, and he liked it very much.
The hall lit up with fiery flames, and Louis watched in bewilderment as Neil went on shouting that by fighting him he was getting stronger, and invited him to continue.
