Chapter 1The Fresh Dress Shirt

Yuni was a secretary, and every single day of the job was a mental mind game. She not only had to help her boss deal with his wife's surprise visits, she also had to clean up the messes made by his mistress. Even when she was on a romantic date with her boyfriend, she had to be ready to pick up her boss's call at any moment, simply because she was terrified of losing her job. For a secretary like her, love was truly a luxury.

She stressed out so much over her boss's problems, big and small, that it was giving her gray hair every day.

One day, her boss rushed off to a date with his mistress. The boss's wife tracked her husband's phone, convinced he had been up to no good the night before, and stormed into the company in a fit of rage.

Yuni immediately showed off her professional secretary skills. On one hand, she called the front desk, ordering them to stall the boss's wife at all costs and absolutely not let her go upstairs. On the other hand, she quickly grabbed a fresh dress shirt and brought it to her boss so he could change out of the clothes that reeked of perfume and makeup.

The receptionist couldn't keep making up excuses to stop the wife forever. Yuni had to race against the clock to get her job done. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side.

The moment she got downstairs, she was just one street away from completing her boss's task within the time limit. At that moment, the incredibly anxious girl didn't want to waste even a single second waiting for the red light.

Right then, Chiwan, a top executive at the company, was driving across the street. His broken windshield wipers blocked his view, and he accidentally hit Yuni as she was jaywalking on a red light. Chiwan panicked, got out of his car to check on her, and noticed that Yuni's knee was hurt. He insisted on taking her to the hospital to treat the wound.

However, Yuni only wanted to get back to the office and give the clothes to her boss. Realizing she couldn't reason with Chiwan, she smartly kicked him right in the knee, claiming that now they were even. Chiwan was stunned by Yuni's crazy move, and he was deeply impressed by her bizarre behavior.

Yuni finally managed to cover everything up, just in time, before the boss's wife blew her top. She calmly walked the wife to the office, lying that the boss had worked overtime all day yesterday and hadn't left at all. Yuni's hard-fought performance made the wife fall for it hook, line, and sinker, and she left the office feeling satisfied.

But this was just a tiny part of Yuni's job as a secretary.

One day, the boss had to attend the funeral of a VIP. How all the executives behaved at the funeral was the true test of a secretary's prep skills, and Yuni knew this all too well. Even though she knew her boss couldn't cry, she looked at the memorial altar with a sad face and even managed to squeeze out a few tears. Those sincere tears immediately touched the hearts of the deceased's family. She naturally blended into the crowd, sobbing along with the grieving family, and thanks to that, her boss stood out among the countless mourners.

Little did she know, Yuni's little tricks were all noticed by Chiwan, who was also at the funeral. He looked down on her cheap tricks, always believing that sincerity is the most important thing in human relationships. Even though he mocked her actions, he couldn't keep his eyes off her.

During the reception, the boss went around networking. Yuni stood calmly by his side, feeding him information about the people he wanted to talk to. At that moment, the boss suddenly looked over at Chiwan's table. Yuni initially wanted to give a detailed introduction of the people at that table, but when her eyes met Chiwan's, she suddenly remembered their car accident encounter.

The boss had never met Chiwan and thought he was just a secretary tagging along with the vice president. Yuni immediately used her special skills, following Chiwan to dig up some background information on him. Who would have thought that Chiwan assumed Yuni was hitting on him? He flat out rejected her confession and even said she didn't meet his standards for a partner at all.

Yuni was so speechless from being roasted that for a moment she was mad enough to want to settle things with her fists. But then she realized the huge strength gap between men and women. She definitely couldn't beat Chiwan in a fight, so she could only glare at him from behind.

Yuni took care of everything for her boss. The boss was too busy dealing with his mistress, so he didn't have time to go negotiate a contract and even wanted Yuni to go in his place. Even though she didn't want to, Yuni bit the bullet and went to the negotiation, successfully securing the deal with the client.

Just when she thought her job was done and was about to breathe a sigh of relief, the boss's wife suddenly charged in on her high heels. Without asking a single question, she dumped a bucket of water right on Yuni's head.

Yuni couldn't stop complaining about her bad luck. Before she could even explain, the boss's wife dragged her out of the restaurant. It turned out the wife thought the boss and Yuni were having an affair, which is why she flew into a rage.

The loud commotion grabbed everyone's attention. By chance, Chiwan was grabbing a bite with his ex-wife, Duhi, and he noticed one of Yuni's shoes lying on the ground. Being a nice guy, he picked it up and chased after her, but she was nowhere to be seen. Just as he was about to toss the shoe in the trash, something told him to go soft, and he quietly kept it.
