Bona had figured out they were dating.
Not long after, Director Du's scheme to use low-quality goods and rush a press conference, taking over the market before the product was even ready, got busted by Chiwan. Bona looked at Yuni with a tense face. Dragging down her own boss meant dragging down Director Du's career, and naturally she got caught in the crossfire too.
Bona and Yuni got into an angry fight. Yuni felt hurt. Even though they were friends, they were on different sides, so clashing was bound to happen. Actually, Bona had her own struggles. Her dad was deaf, and the burden of making a living fell entirely on her shoulders. She had to work hard and make good money just to survive.
Yuni was super sad after fighting with Bona. Seeing Chiwan quietly waiting for her on the bench by the door, Yuni just poured out all the hurt inside. She blamed herself a bit for not noticing how Bona felt. Chiwan gently comforted her, and from him, Yuni gained the strength to face everything.
During work hours, Yuni sneaked into the office. Naturally thinking the man standing by the desk was Chiwan, she wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. To her surprise, Chiwan walked in through the door right at that moment. Only then did Yuni realize that the guy she was hugging was Chang Su. She awkwardly walked away.
Chang Su was insanely jealous. At a dinner party, Chang Su used liquid courage to pressure Chiwan to leave Yuni alone, even declaring that he would absolutely never give up. Chiwan really couldn't hold back his anger and threw a punch. The two drunk guys wrestled each other like little kids, and everyone had a really hard time pulling them apart.
Back home, Chiwan was still bothered by the fact that Yuni used to treat Chang Su so nicely. In his sleep, he even told Yuni to always stay by his side. Hearing his drunk words, Yuni's heart melted, and her eyes were filled with endless love.
However, what Yuni didn't expect was running into Duhi at the office the next day. Seeing how friendly and chill the two of them were together made Yuni unhappy. Yuni understood that they used to be family, after all, so completely cutting ties wouldn't be easy. And this time, Duhi was looking for Chiwan because she wanted to get back together.
For years, Duhi had always loved Chiwan deeply. She just never managed to win his heart.
With Duhi back, Chiwan told Yuni to cancel all his afternoon plans. Yuni felt anxious. Right then, a co-worker needed Chiwan to sign an urgent document, and she used it as an excuse to call him and ask when he'd be back. Hearing Yuni's voice, Chiwan couldn't help but chat a bit more. He got distracted for a second and almost rear-ended the car in front of him. Sitting in the passenger seat, Duhi got scared and called him honey in a panic. Yuni heard it loud and clear on the other end, and jealousy flared up.
Even though she told herself to be cool about it, thinking about Duhi instinctively calling Chiwan honey made her sulk. Yuni's mind was racing. Walking down the street, she saw a couple about to kiss and, in her blurry state, thought it was Chiwan and Duhi getting cozy. She screamed and rushed over to stop them, only to realize it wasn't them. She awkwardly apologized and walked away.
Yuni waited up all night, tossing and turning, but didn't get a single text or call from Chiwan. He didn't come home until four in the morning. Yuni rushed out, ready to blow up, but then found out that Chiwan had gone to the hospital to visit Duhi's dad, the vice president, whose cancer might have come back.
Seeing the vice president, who had always taken such good care of him and had even trusted him with his daughter, Chiwan felt incredibly guilty. Because of that, he couldn't text Yuni. Being understanding, Yuni told Chiwan to spend more time with the vice president and that she wouldn't mind.
Chiwan promised to spend his whole day off with Yuni. The two cleaned their place, then went on a sweet date. As they walked home, they ran right into Duhi waiting at the door. It turned out Chiwan had left his scarf at the hospital, and Duhi had specially brought it to him. Seeing them holding hands tightly, Duhi realized Yuni was the girlfriend Chiwan had mentioned, and her face instantly darkened.
Chiwan planned to say a few words to Duhi, telling Yuni to go inside first. After saying that, he let go of her hand. This time, Yuni didn't just walk away quietly. She turned back and grabbed Chiwan's hand tightly, not letting him go. Duhi wasn't backing down either. If Chiwan couldn't leave, she would just stay for some tea.
The two women sat across from each other, and the tense vibe made Chiwan super uncomfortable. Duhi and Yuni threw subtle jabs at each other. Chiwan listened, not knowing what the right thing to say was. Yuni kept getting riled up by Duhi's soft but cutting remarks. Without paying attention to her piping hot tea, she took a sip and burned her mouth, making a face. Seeing this, Chiwan felt super bad and quickly handed Yuni a glass of cold water. This natural reaction made Duhi somewhat realize the difference between her and Yuni in Chiwan's heart.
Just then, the vice president called. He needed a family member to sign some papers for his tests. Yuni generously let Chiwan go, and Duhi tagged along. Watching them leave, Yuni felt a little disappointed, wondering if being so understanding was the right thing to do.
Meanwhile, Yuni's mom, after hearing about Chiwan's past from Duhi, felt very sorry for what he had been through. However, she didn't want her daughter to share his pain. She sincerely asked to meet Chiwan, hoping he would break up with Yuni.
Hearing Yuni's mom say this, Chiwan was flooded with mixed emotions. Not knowing what to do, he sat helplessly in the coffee shop for a long time. When he got home and saw Yuni waiting for him, the moment she reached her hand out to him, all his doubts and hesitation instantly vanished. Chiwan firmly grabbed Yuni's hand, refusing to let go easily.
On another front, Director Du was racking his brain, trying to find proof that Chiwan and Yuni were dating. In a moment of weakness, Bona decided to side with Director Du and sell out Yuni. While having lunch with Yuni, Bona pretended her phone was broken so she could borrow Yuni's. She then secretly forwarded all the couple photos of Yuni and Chiwan to herself.
Director Du finally got the evidence he wanted. Instead of exposing them right away, he specially called a meeting to emphasize the no-office-romance rule, planning to use this to deal a fatal blow to Chiwan at the perfect moment.
However, the drama for the couple didn't stop there. That day, Duhi asked to meet Yuni. Yuni didn't tell Chiwan, but the sharp Chiwan noticed something was up. He couldn't reach Yuni by phone, so he immediately tracked down Duhi. Duhi didn't hide the fact that she was meeting Yuni. Once he got the address, Chiwan rushed over. When he got to the restaurant, he only saw Duhi. Yuni was nowhere to be found.
It turned out Duhi wanted to try and win Chiwan back one more time. She had met with Yuni specifically to tell her about her past with Chiwan, hoping Yuni would back off. After all, Duhi had known Chiwan for twenty years and had been married to him for two. Even with all that history, she still couldn't win his heart. Duhi firmly believed that Yuni, who hadn't known Chiwan for long, wouldn't be able to do it either.
What shocked Duhi was that Yuni had no intention of backing down. Instead, she firmly stated that because she loved Chiwan, she wouldn't give him up easily. Plus, Duhi is Duhi, and Yuni is Yuni. They are two completely different people and shouldn't be compared.
Since Chiwan didn't see Yuni, he straight up told Duhi exactly how he felt. His feelings for Yuni and Duhi weren't the same. He never regretted marrying Duhi. Toward Duhi, Chiwan felt more guilt, because he couldn't love her completely. But as for Yuni, he didn't want to miss out on her, and he was terrified of losing her.
Back home, Chiwan wanted to explain things to Yuni, but she wasn't in her room. Thinking Yuni was mad at him, he sadly went back up to the second floor. To his surprise, he found that Yuni had been waiting at his door for a long time. The moment their eyes met, Chiwan knew any explanation was unnecessary. They understood each other perfectly.
