Dohyun went to see his CEO. As soon as the man saw him, he bombarded him with questions, from the fake letter to where he had been all this time.
Dohyun confirmed that he hadn't written that letter at all. He also asked about the money in his account, because when he went to withdraw some, the machine said the balance was zero. The CEO was shocked to hear that and promised to look into it thoroughly.
Dohyun continued, furious about the dating scandal with Sarah. "Why did you let her hold a press conference and talk all that nonsense?"
The CEO explained that Sarah was too stubborn and he couldn't stop her.
Dohyun said he needed more time to handle some personal business before officially appearing in public again. However, the CEO threw more cold water on him. "I just told Miran that you're back."
When he heard that, Dohyun wasn't too hard on him, because Miran was close to him and had worked so hard to find him.
Meanwhile, at home, Seo was living in fear. She was absolutely sure that sooner or later Dohyun would bring the police to throw her in jail. She was so hopeless that she told Namu, "Before I get locked up, let me have one really good meal."
So she made Namu go and buy barbecue for her last meal. While watching her eat, he grumbled and scolded her for overreacting. But Seo's head was spinning and she didn't hear a word. She was just busy enjoying her last few moments of freedom.
As for Dohyun, right when he returned to his luxury apartment, he had a bad feeling that something was wrong. Before he could react, a masked person suddenly rushed out and attacked him frantically with a knife.
While he was struggling and getting hit in the head, those fragmented memories from that night suddenly came back clearly to Dohyun's mind.
It turned out that before being knocked out by Seo, he was being hunted by a stranger at a bar. After Miran called him there, Dohyun ran away to save his life. And right at that moment, Seo appeared, mistook him for her terrible manager, and hit him with her high heel. So by accident, kidnapping him had actually saved him from the reaper's blade.
The killer managed to stab Dohyun, leaving him injured. He used what little strength he had left to escape, and ran straight towards Seo's house, where she and Namu were about to turn themselves in. Seeing Dohyun covered in blood and collapsing in front of them, they both panicked and rushed him to the emergency room. Luckily, the doctor said the wound wasn't too deep, so it wasn't life-threatening.
When Dohyun woke up, Seo and Namu repeatedly asked him who the attacker was. He said that because the guy was masked, he hadn't seen his face clearly, but he insisted this wasn't the first time the man had tried to kill him.
Dohyun even mocked Seo. "I just escaped a hitman only to fall right into the hands of another kidnapper."
Hearing that, she blew up. "Don't talk nonsense. I've saved you so many times, and you're still talking like that."
Namu stood in the middle to stop them and said they should call the police. To his surprise, both Dohyun and Seo shouted at the same time, "No."
Seo didn't want to call the police because she was afraid her kidnapping would be exposed and she would go to jail. As for Dohyun, he had a feeling that the person who wanted to kill him was a close acquaintance, so he wanted to investigate on his own instead of getting the law involved right now.
After being discharged from hospital, Dohyun insisted on going back to Seo's house, because he was afraid his own apartment wasn't safe any more. Once there, Seo gave him a pen and paper and told him to list the people he suspected of trying to assassinate him.
Looking at the long list, she exclaimed, "My god, why do you have so many enemies? It's probably because your personality is so annoying."
When it was time to eat, looking at Seo's plain meal, the superstar started acting like a spoiled brat again. "You're giving me this stuff to eat? I only eat five-star food. Don't you know that?"
This time, Seo didn't back down. She snapped back. "Before, I felt guilty, so I worked like a dog to buy you fancy food. But now you're here by choice, asking for my protection. So you eat what I have. If you don't like it, feel free to get the hell out and go back home to your luxury."
Dohyun was speechless after hearing that, and sadly sat down to eat, because honestly, he didn't dare step a single foot out the door right now.
He had decided to stick around at Seo's house because he believed it was safer than his fancy apartment, where the killer had just shown up. When she tried to nudge him to leave, he planned to use his old trick of threatening to call the police about the kidnapping to pressure her.
But Seo wasn't scared at all. Instead, she totally flipped the script on him. "You think I'm scared? When you ran here covered in blood, I was already planning to turn myself in. If you want, go ahead and call the police. I'm ready to go to jail. But you'll lose your hiding spot too."
Seeing her being so tough, Dohyun had to back down and beg. "Fine. I'm asking you. Please don't go to the police right now. I really don't know who wants to kill me, and if I go home now, I'm a dead man. Let me stay here and I promise I won't make any more demands."
Seo set some conditions. If he stayed, he had to eat whatever she cooked, and do chores instead of just sitting around.
The superstar threw a fit at first. "You're making a star like me do chores? No way."
But under Seo's glare, he sadly grabbed the mop and started cleaning the floor while she went to work.
While Dohyun was busy mopping, Namu came over to visit. Seeing the superstar working like a maid, he couldn't help but laugh. Dohyun made an excuse. "I just had nothing to do with my hands, so I'm doing a bit for fun."
Namu kept asking why he hadn't told the police about the kidnapping. Was it because he had already fallen in love with his kidnapper?
Dohyun got flustered and yelled in denial. "Are you crazy? Why would I ever love her? Stop making up stuff."
Even though he said that, inside, Dohyun started feeling something strange, as if Seo had begun to sneak into his heart without him even realising it.
