Chapter 5A Tooth Called Beliars

Suddenly, a massive portal opened above them and a gigantic dragon appeared. The creature, called Beliars, commented that the magical power of the tooth Yuta had treated had reconnected, and that the pain had returned to the point of nearly driving him insane. Yuta asked if he was all right and explained that the magical seal had been undone because of Colt Curran. Upon hearing this, the dragon understood the situation and agreed to help, deciding to erase all the humans there from existence.

Meanwhile, in the artisans' district, nobles and elders discussed the situation. One of them commented that Yuta was a waste of talent, and that if she had not broken the rules, she could have been accepted back. He revealed that he had brought her in because of her exceptional skill and had assigned Baron Brook to watch over her, but that even so, everything had spiraled out of control. Baron Brook apologized, but said that the more someone is suppressed, the sooner or later they will explode. Another noble disagreed, claiming that people can be controlled through rules and authority. At that moment, a massive explosion interrupted everything, and a messenger announced that Yuta and Ash had arrived.

Back in the laboratory, Beliars was already destroying everything, wiping out blacksmiths and mercenaries as the cave ceiling collapsed. The level of destruction was absurd, impossible to confront. Colt Curran faced the consequences of his own plan. He was nearly crushed by a rock, only his leg being hit, and realized that everything that had seemed simple had gone completely wrong.

Yuta approached him and questioned whether he really thought he could copy her work just by stealing. She explained that monstrous weapons demand a high price, often one's own life, something he would never understand because he only thinks about money. Since ancient times, heroes, demon kings, and adventurers have risked everything to obtain this kind of power. She made it clear that these weapons are not meant for absolute good, but to be powerful, wielded by strong individuals, and declared herself a true monstrous blacksmith.

Colt Curran replied that she spoke well, but that one day she would realize that the two of them were not so different. Yuta immediately rejected the idea, called Beliars, climbed onto his neck, and decided to show him the truth. She stated that she did not want to be compared to someone like him, and ordered the dragon to destroy everything he had built, leaving only a few chests containing weapons.

During the destruction, Yuta warned him not to destroy the chests, as doing so could trigger a chain reaction with the magic. Even so, Beliars accidentally crushed some of them, setting off a massive explosion. The monstrous weapons were blasted away, scattering across the entire world, each landing in a different place. Seeing this, Ash realized the situation had become even worse, while Yuta complained about the dragon, calling him an idiot.

Later, exhausted after so much walking, Yuta continued searching for a specific place. Ash questioned whether that really was the right location, since they had been walking for so long without finding anything. Yuta replied that Elson's gaze was guiding them, and that even the hammer itself confirmed it. Even so, Ash still doubted it, pointing out that the place looked like a front line against the remnants of the demon king.

Yuta, on the other hand, looked at the landscape and commented that it brought a nostalgic feeling. Ash asked why, out of all possible places, they had to end up there. Yuta admitted that everything had turned into a huge mess, especially after what happened with Beliars, since that mistake had caused the monstrous weapons to scatter across the entire continent. Even so, she acknowledged that most of the blame had fallen on the artisans' council, which changed several rules and taboos of blacksmith street, and ended up granting her exclusive rights to produce and distribute this type of weapon.

Meanwhile, Colt Curran was judged, and Yuta received the responsibility of traveling across the continent to recover all the weapons, which explained why they had ended up there. She fully trusted Elson's gaze, since it never failed, and was certain that whoever held the weapon was in that place.

And indeed, a mage was using a monstrous staff on the battlefield, taking advantage of the weapon's overwhelming power while saying it was practically a blessing, as she felt far more powerful. She was effortlessly wiping out several humans.

Meanwhile, Ash complained about being tired from so much walking, but soon noticed something strange on the field. There was a novice mage wearing armor, casting weak spells that did not even scratch a giant cyclops. It caught her attention because it made no sense for a mage to fight like that. The man kept trying, casting several useless lightning spells, until he gave up, threw away his wand, and ran off.

Seeing this, Ash got excited at the chance for action, while Yuta already thought that monster would make a great weapon. The two charged in at the same time, one with a sword and the other with a hammer, and defeated the cyclops in seconds.

After that, Yuta approached the strange mage and asked why someone in armor was using only basic magic on the front lines against demons. The man thanked them for saving him, and introduced himself as Banzon Packard, explaining that he was actually a shield warrior, or at least he used to be. He said that he had recently been hit by a status reversal curse, cast by an undead commander, which had caused all his strength and vitality to be converted into mana. Now he could not even lift his own shield, much less fight as before, despite having an enormous amount of mana.

He did not know how to use magic, which left him practically useless. Ash realized that his mana level was absurd, almost on par with an archmage, but that this did not help him in practice. Yuta, on the other hand, started connecting the dots and suspected that this curse was directly related to the weapon she was searching for, which meant it had likely fallen into the hands of the demonic army. The situation was worse than she had imagined.

Even so, Banzon Packard said he could not just stand there, since he had heard that the undead commander was about to launch an offensive against the humans. He did not want to abandon his comrades, even if he felt useless. Ash commented that the so-called status reversal must be the effect of the weapon they were seeking, and Yuta proposed to help, asking if, should he be able to use a shield again, he would help them.

He hesitated, saying the battlefield was far too dangerous to bring girls like them, and that even veterans were being defeated by that commander. But Yuta made it clear that she also had business to settle with that enemy, and that on top of that, she could even provide him with a shield. After all, she was a blacksmith.
