A pair of little feet came along the corridor, and a little boy with a dessert in his hands. It was the little painter, and he told his daddy that this was tiramisu, and that it was delicious, and asked him whether he wanted to try it.
His father told him that he didn't like desserts.
The little boy said that that was unfortunate, because even though his mother had made it especially for his daddy, his daddy didn't eat dessert — so he would take advantage of it himself.
Then the little boy wondered where the dessert had gone. His father was eating it.
The little painter asked his father whether he hadn't just said that he didn't like desserts, and his father told him that he had suddenly felt like eating it.
The little painter pulled a strange face and said that he knew his dad cared about his mommy, and wondered why he wouldn't help them out again. Then he told his daddy that this was good, because now his mom's hard work wouldn't be for nothing, since his mom had burned her hands making it.
His father stood up at once, and the little boy closed his small fist in celebration of victory.
In the kitchen somebody was preparing the rest of the dishes, and it was Su Fu.
Ji Yansi came in with a slightly strange look on his face. He took his wife's hand and asked her where she had been burned.
Su Fu blushed and asked him why, since she was barely burned at all, he was making such a fuss. She had only asked Su Ji to deliver the cake, and the boy must have told his father that her hands were burned; and here he was, agitated on her account. She blushed harder and told him that it was all right.
He had been tricked by that little boy, he thought — but when he had heard just now that Su Fu was hurt, there had been nothing but chaos in his heart. From the moment he met Su Fu his heart had been in a mess, and every bit of his attention had been on her.
Then Ji Yansi told Su Fu that since she had made tiramisu especially for him, he would like to show his gratitude for it.
What followed was a very romantic scene, and Su Fu said that her heart was beating extremely fast because of it, and Ji Yansi gave her a beautiful kiss.
Outside, the little detective told the little painter that his idea had been really good, and that in matters of romance he was the best, and that in future his own interventions would depend on his brother's ideas.
Then the oven timer went off, and Su Fu said that the cookies were ready and she would go and get them, while Ji Yansi said that she was so sweet — sweeter than any dessert.
And then he told her that there was a dinner that night, and asked her to come with him and attend as his companion, and said that he would send the driver to give her the address.
If she appeared in public with him, Su Fu thought, the media would pay enormous attention to their relationship — and their scandals had not been cleaned up yet, and she did not want the public to judge him because of her.
So she told him that she couldn't, because she had a script to read that night, and it would be better not to go.
Ji Yansi turned his back on her and told her to do whatever she wanted.
The little ones looked crushed, and the little painter said that they had been kissing and hugging so sweetly a minute ago, and asked why his dad's expression had gone so bad all of a sudden — maybe they had got into a fight. And he said that they were really helpless.
Su Fu peeled off her gloves and thought that she was probably the first person in the world who had ever dared to reject Ji Yansi.
Then Manman called.
She told Sister Fu that she had received a document signed by the Su family, so from now on she would have nothing to do with the Su family at all; they must have signed it the moment it arrived, because they really could not wait to cut off every relation with her.
But then Manman told her that she had been about to tell her something else: the Su family was planning to ask the president of the Hanjia Group for help, so that he would help Su Li fight for the position of female lead.
Su Fu said that the Hanjia Group was one of the investors in Su Li's film, and that they really did not want to give up.
Then she smiled, and wondered how anybody could fail to make a scene on such an interesting occasion.
