My Sister-in-Law Blamed Me for the Missing Booster Money — Her Own Texts Say Where It Went

Synopsis

Tess ran the Halbrook Hornets concession stand for nine seasons, every dollar counted, every bag numbered. Then her brother's wife takes over the boosters, collects $11,240 for new uniforms through her personal Venmo, and tells the whole town the "previous treasurer" left a mess. Nobody remembers that Tess is still the signer on the district account, or that the uniform vendor keeps his texts. She hands over the apron. The record does the rest, first at homecoming halftime, then in front of the school board.
