On the day of the school festival, Ard and Ireina blend in with the crowd and enjoy themselves while keeping their main objective in mind: protecting the students from any possible threat. As Ireina enjoys the food, Ard stays alert, and then suddenly hears an explosion a short distance away. The two of them rush to the scene, only to find Silfie threatening an innocent man whom she has accused of being a demon.
Ard and Ireina step in and ask Silfie to let the man go, just before Lady Olivia arrives and proves the man's innocence, explaining that she knows him very well. Silfie apologizes for her mistake, while Lady Olivia scolds her for causing chaos instead of actually patrolling. In response, Ireina invites Silfie to help their class with its attraction, and Silfie agrees.
After Silfie leaves, Ard and Ireina stop in front of a tree, where Ard mentions that the third king of Laville is said to have sealed something special beneath it. As Lady Olivia approaches them, they ask her about the tree's secret, only to learn that she is not allowed to reveal it to the public. At that moment Lady Olivia brings up the Sword King battle tournament, which is taking place during the school festival the following day, and informs Ard that she has already registered him as a participant.
Ard is left completely shocked, while Lady Olivia tries to blackmail him into taking part. With no other choice, Ard reluctantly accepts, and then decides to visit his class and check on their festival attraction.
As soon as he arrives, he finds that Silfie is causing trouble there as well, but he quickly handles the situation by repairing the damaged wall and asking her to calm down. Just then Jinny steps out of the room and invites Ard to try out their services, and he agrees. As he takes a seat at one of the tables, the maids immediately begin flirting with him, only to be stopped by Ireina, who walks into the room and declares that she will personally provide all of Ard's services without anyone else's help.
As they all start arguing with each other, an announcement is made for the Sword King battle tournament, in which the host reveals that the grand prize is a replica of the holy sword, Vald Galulus. Hearing about the reward, both Jinny and Ireina decide to enter the tournament, and they begin arguing all over again, realizing that their previous match was never finished because Elzard attacked the arena. Silfie also decides to join the tournament, because of the prize, while Ard realizes that he might have some problems on his hands if both Silfie and Lady Olivia are taking part as well.
The next day the tournament begins, and Ard, Ireina and Lady Olivia receive a warm welcome as some of the strongest contenders in the competition. Seeing this makes Silfie feel disappointed, as she realizes that the others still do not consider her strong.
Once the matches begin, all four of them overwhelm their opponents easily and without much difficulty. Unlike the others, however, Jinny is matched against a powerful opponent, and she begins struggling to keep up with his techniques. After she is knocked to the ground by one of his attacks, Ard notices that she is losing her confidence. He stands up in the audience and calls out to encourage her, trying to lift her spirits and restore her belief in herself.
His words give Jinny the motivation she needs. She charges at her opponent, overpowers him and lands the finishing blow. The entire crowd is left stunned, while Ard and the others celebrate her victory.
After the match, Ard meets up with Jinny, while Ireina and Silfie return to the café because they are short-handed. Realizing that this is her chance, Jinny asks Ard to accompany her to the Miss and Mr. Beauty contest, pointing out that there will be a large crowd there, which will allow him to patrol the area at the same time.
When Ard arrives at the venue, he notices Elo among the crowd and decides to approach him. As Elo turns around and sees Ard, he immediately becomes frightened, while Ard is surprised by how much weight Elo has gained since the last time they met.
As Ard stands there, Jinny walks onto the stage, which prompts Elo to comment on how much she has changed, considering that she used to be a very shy and insecure person during her childhood. Since Jinny's family is meant to protect the Spencer family, Elo was raised to misuse his noble status, and that is what led him to bully Jinny from a young age. He admits, however, that he now feels guilty about everything he did, and that he is somewhat relieved because of Ard, who helped restore Jinny's confidence and allowed her to stand proudly on that stage in front of everyone.
Hearing that, Ard realizes that Elo genuinely regrets his actions, and asks him whether he will ever be able to move on from his guilt. Elo replies that the day he apologizes to Jinny will be the day he finally breaks free from the curse of it.
As the event comes to an end, Elo leaves the area, while Jinny and Ard are announced as the winners. After receiving her prize, Jinny's confidence grows even more, and Ard encourages her to keep doing her best. The two of them then return to their café, where Jinny notices the large number of customers and realizes that her idea was a success, which makes her happier still.
A few moments later, Ard faces Lady Olivia in the Sword King battle tournament. Calling him her little brother, Lady Olivia gives him an incredibly tough fight. As she gradually gains the upper hand, Ard realizes that she has no intention of holding back, and he accidentally uses a magic barrier to defend himself from one of her attacks. The barrier sends Lady Olivia flying, and Ard is disqualified for using magic during the match. Meanwhile Lady Olivia fails to return in time for her own next match, and is forced to forfeit.
Right after that, Ireina and Jinny face each other in the tournament and give each other an intense battle. While fighting, they also argue over Ard, which leaves the audience confused and Ard completely frustrated. Both of them eventually prepare their final attacks, and Ireina comes out on top and defeats Jinny. After the match, Jinny and Ireina meet outside, where Ard praises them both for their impressive performance.
The monster from earlier, however, watches the entire scene from the shadows, preparing to enter the festival and disrupt the event.
