Minjun tried to convince Thomas to take off the yellow hoodie, but after seeing how happy the little boy looked, he decided it would be better to let him finish dinner first. Not realising that Daiki was already watching them, he wondered aloud, jokingly, whether the boss would really kill him over a yellow shirt.
At that moment Daiki spoke. He pointed at the yellow outfits and asked calmly what they were wearing.
Minjun froze. Trembling, he explained that colourful clothes were good for a child's development, and that Thomas had spent his whole life wearing nothing but black and white.
Daiki stepped closer. He leaned toward Minjun and asked quietly whether he was trying to deceive him. He wanted a proper explanation, he said, before things became more serious.
Flustered by how close the man was standing, Minjun admitted that he had simply wanted to wear matching clothes with Thomas. Despite his nervousness, he could not help noticing how pleasant Daiki's voice sounded when he spoke that close to him.
Daiki ordered him to change immediately.
Before Minjun could respond, Thomas interrupted them. The little boy insisted that he liked yellow, and declared happily that he and his mama were yellow crayons.
Daiki walked over to Thomas, kissed him gently and assured him calmly that he was not angry. He explained that he was only talking to Minjun. Then he shot Minjun a sharp look and told Thomas to go upstairs with Kenta after dinner.
Finally he ordered Minjun to follow him.
As Minjun followed nervously behind, he could not stop wondering what kind of punishment was waiting for him.
To his surprise, Daiki told him that Thomas looked fine in the clothes. He asked him not to become too emotionally attached to the boy.
Minjun could not accept that. He argued that if Thomas insisted on calling him mama, then naturally he would do everything he could to care for him and play with him. He went on to explain that when people spent time with children, they influenced one another and formed bonds. That was simply how it worked.
Growing emotional, he stepped closer and accused Daiki of treating Thomas like nothing more than property.
The moment the words were out, he realised what he had said, and apologised at once.
Instead of becoming angry, Daiki gently cupped his face and watched quietly as tears filled Minjun's eyes. Embarrassed, Minjun tried to look away, but Daiki told him not to avert his gaze. He asked why Minjun always looked so frightened, and whether he was afraid of him.
The closeness between them made Minjun extremely nervous.
Daiki repeated the question in a firm voice, stroking his cheek gently. Completely intimidated, Minjun could only nod.
After a brief silence, Daiki stepped back and announced that he would allow Thomas to wear blue. Only blue.
Still wiping away his tears, Minjun tried to negotiate for yellow as well. Daiki repeated firmly that blue was the only colour he would permit.
Later that night, while everyone else was asleep, Thomas woke from a nightmare and began to cry. Minjun rested his forehead gently against the little boy's and comforted him softly, promising that everything would feel better once he opened his eyes.
Still trembling, Thomas slowly opened them, and then asked for his father.
Surprised by his persistence, Minjun explained that Daiki was probably asleep, but Thomas kept insisting.
Unable to refuse him, Minjun picked him up and carried him toward Daiki's room, wondering whether he would be thrown out the moment they arrived. As they walked downstairs, he comforted Thomas by telling him that he was like a little guardian angel. With a determined expression, Thomas replied that he would protect Minjun too, whenever Daiki became angry.
When they reached Daiki's bedroom, they found him peacefully asleep beneath the blankets.
Resting his head against Minjun's chest, Thomas remarked innocently that Minjun's heart was beating very fast. Embarrassed, Minjun admitted quietly that he was nervous. Thomas giggled.
Suddenly Daiki woke, gripped Minjun's arm firmly, and demanded to know what he was doing there.
Minjun explained hurriedly that Thomas had had a nightmare and wanted to see his father. While he was speaking, he glanced at Daiki by accident, which only made him more embarrassed.
In a calm voice, Daiki invited them to come closer.
Startled, Minjun asked why he was being invited onto the bed. Daiki simply pointed out that it was Thomas who wanted him there. Thomas patted the mattress eagerly, encouraging Minjun to sit beside them.
Blushing furiously, Minjun sat carefully on the very edge of the bed, while Daiki asked Thomas whether he was still frightened. The little boy hugged his father quietly in answer.
When Daiki asked what had caused the nightmare, Minjun admitted that he did not know.
Thomas then reached over, grabbed Minjun's hand, and pulled him onto the bed beside them. His face burning and his heart racing, Minjun struggled to stay calm. Seeing him muttering nervously to himself, Daiki, clearly in a bad mood, told him to stop mumbling and concentrate on helping Thomas fall asleep.
Minjun apologised and stroked Thomas's hair gently until the boy began to settle.
Smiling happily, Thomas announced that he wanted to sleep with both his mama and his papa that night.
Minjun was completely stunned by the idea of all three of them sharing the same bed. He tried to object. Both Daiki and Thomas urged him to settle down beside them.
Excitedly, Thomas patted his father's arm and suggested that Minjun use it as a pillow. Minjun replied awkwardly that his head was probably too heavy. Growing impatient, Daiki complained about the unnecessary conversation and asked how much longer Minjun intended to hesitate.
Eventually Minjun lay down and went on comforting Thomas quietly.
Then the little boy made one final request. He asked his mama to hug his papa, so that all three of them could sleep close together.
Unable to refuse, Minjun let Thomas pull him closer, and the three of them eventually settled into a shared embrace.
