The entire palace was sunk in silent darkness, yet inside the king's chambers little treasure Anissa was sleeping next to the dog emperor.
The child was sleepy, her eyes drooping, but she kept cheering herself on not to sleep. She must persevere, or if she fell asleep this dog king would kill her. Anissa told herself that even if she died, she had to die awake.
Anissa tried too hard, to the point of writhing in the night. That king, who was lying down, suddenly noticed the movement and opened his eyes. He saw that it was this late, yet the child still was not asleep. She really was not normal.
He secretly gathered magic, intending to kill Anissa. Better to kill wrongly than to let a strange creature that could destroy his kingdom slip by.
The murderous hands moved closer toward the child. Unexpectedly, after struggling for a while, Anissa could not resist and fell soundly asleep.
Seeing this, the emperor also stopped his hands. He clicked his tongue, feeling this brat slept like a pig. He started doubting his own judgment. Perhaps the child was just ordinary.
The dog emperor stepped outside. He felt maybe he had overthought things. The room now had only Anissa in it, sleeping like a dead pig.
The emperor's feet brought him to another room. He softly called the empress.
The empress was sleeping in the room. Beside her the second prince was sleeping soundly, still mumbling in his sleep, blaming his heartless father for not sleeping with him.
Hearing someone calling her, the empress opened her beautiful eyes. She sat up, startled and surprised to see it was the king making a late-night visit.
The king answered her with a soft hum from his throat. He reached out his warm hand, caressing her smooth cheek.
The empress was extremely surprised, asking why he had come here. Wasn't he sleeping with Anissa?
He did not answer that question. He only looked deeply into her eyes and said, alluringly, "Empress, let's have another prince."
Hearing these words, the good, motherly empress immediately covered the king's mouth, firmly refusing, since the second prince was here.
The king's face turned unhappy. He glanced to the side, seeing the brat sleeping soundly, drooling. He frowned, asking if the empress was refusing him.
The empress immediately, tremblingly, said she had no such intention.
The tyrannical emperor had just waited for the opportunity. He used his authority, making the empress unable to refuse. Hugging her waist, the king told her not to worry, saying that even if thunder struck next to the second prince's ear, he would not wake up.
Just as the words left his mouth, a child's wailing cry rang out, startling the two. The empress immediately recognized that it was Anissa's cries. She was extremely worried, while the king beside her was angered to the point of turning black.
Seeing his parents embracing each other, standing there, the second prince blurrily asked if they were dancing.
Rewinding back to Anissa, ten minutes ago.
While the child was still sleeping soundly, the imperial floor was suddenly pierced through by a tree branch, along with a bizarre voice. It said it had been in this kingdom for three months, and only now had it had the chance to get close to Princess Anissa.
Hearing the loud noises, the girl startled awake.
Seeing that it had been discovered, the monster was still extremely calm. It knew Anissa was very special — not someone from its planet, yet also not the real Princess Anissa.
Anissa shivered in fear, seeing the strange creature. The child did not know what exactly it was. Could it be an alien creature? Anissa called them aliens — but then the humans on this planet were no different, the creature said, because ten thousand years ago humans had fled the blue star and come here, occupying this planet.
Hearing this, Anissa firmly rejected it, feeling the story had gone too far, and she had no interest in hearing things unrelated to herself. But to say more — Anissa did not understand what on earth was happening. Why did she suddenly meet an alien? Oh my God.
While that strange creature kept chattering away, it laughed. It turned out this creature had also tried entering human bodies before, but the human soul was too strong; they could not take over their bodies. The strange creature said no one could be as perfect as Anissa, able to enter a human body. It blamed her for being too stupid, behaving too differently from a normal child — otherwise, perhaps until now, still no one would have noticed that the real Princess Anissa had disappeared.
Called stupid, Anissa felt extremely dissatisfied.
After finishing its lecture, the strange creature also started taking action. Its body mutated, stretching out tentacles like thorny branches toward Anissa, wanting to seize the child's body.
Those thorny tentacles frightened Anissa, forcing her to retreat. Her whole body was very quickly entangled, and Anissa felt these vines piercing her body were extremely painful. The strange creature consoled her that the process might hurt a bit, but no problem — she would die soon anyway.
Just as it was about to succeed, Anissa's name rang out, followed by urgent stomping footsteps coming closer. The monster knew someone had come. It had not expected that Anissa had called for help at some point.
What arrived were the vile, cruel humans. The thorny vines now retracted, leaving countless wounds on Anissa's body. Although unwilling that its plan had failed at the last moment, the strange creature still could not let too many people find it, so it quickly retreated. Its body disintegrated into a pile of slimy, sticky blue goo. Only its eyes still glared at Anissa resentfully, remembering this grudge. Finally it sank into the ground and disappeared.
One second later the empress burst in with a panic-stricken face, asking what had happened. Anissa looked at her mother, her whole body trembling badly.
