Synopsis

Theophilo wandered the cosmos for a long time before he found a vessel worth taking: a young man who died at twenty-eight, obese, cheated out of the project he built, mourned by nobody but his idol brother. Waking in that hospital bed, he inherits the dead man's memories, his failed heart and his fifty-inch waist, and almost no nature force at all. So the druid does the only sensible thing and moves to a run-down house below White Tiger Mountain. Then a crying water deer leads him up the slope to a trap, and he finally looks around at soil richer than anything in his first life.
